American Classic Motors Deluxe description

My friend Tom finished restoring this 1926 Excelsior Henderson Deluxe shorty before his untimely passing late last year. At present there are less than 20 miles on the restored motorcycle.

History:  Tom bought the Henderson 29 years ago (1987). It had been in storage since 1932.

Engine: The engine was meticulously rebuilt by noted Henderson-Indian guru Ian Davidson in Washington State. Tom did not have a chance to ride the bike more than a few miles before he got sick, so the engine break-in is not complete. I will provide the winning bidder with Ian's contact information.

Modifications: I am not a Henderson expert, but I believe the only non-standard items on the bike are the handlebars and the magneto. Instead of the stock tiller style bars, the bike sports a period modified set of wider bars which have been on the bike since at least 1932 (much preferable for riding). Tom planned to ride this bike on antique runs, and with that in mind he replaced the magneto with a more modern unit. The original magneto appears to be in good shape and will be included in the sale.

Paint & Finish:  All of the nickle is fresh and the bike is a near flawless example of a Henderson Deluxe. The paint, in factory original colors, was applied by Charley at "Tanks Only" in Seattle.

The bike fired on the second kick when we started it a couple weeks ago.  It is ready to run and ride.  It has a clean Washington title ready for transfer.
