Developed by Aprilia to combine the ultimate fun of superlight Supermotos with the everyday usability of a standard, the Dorsoduro is a bike designed specifically to excel on the streets you actually ride. With long travel Sachs suspension that is adjustable for preload, compression, and rebound, this bike can handle even the most devastated city streets with confidence. The 90Â° V-twin engine brings a remarkable 50 ft lbs of torque with maximum crankshaft horsepower rated at over 90. In addition to Ride-by-Wire throttle bodies and Magneti Marrelli fuel injection, the Dorsoduro 750 now offers Continental ABS, so that your fun doesn't have to stop when the rain comes. To further ensure your enjoyment, the fuel injection and ignition timing settings can be toggled between three pre-set power delivery maps. Called Tri-Map, this system lets you quickly change between Track, Street, and Rain power delivery modes so that you can best match the engine characteristics to your prevailing conditions or preferences. Intermot 2012: More Power and ABS for 2013 Aprilia RSV4 Factory

Current World Superbike points leader Max Biaggi was on hand as Aprilia announced a number of updates to its RSV4 flagship sportbike at the 2012 Intermot show in Cologne, Germany. The Aprilia RSV4 Factory returns with its impressive APRC electronics package and 1000cc V4 engine, but adds anti-lock brakes, and a larger fuel tank. Aprilia also gave the RSV4 a performance boost, claiming 181.5 hp and 86.3 ft-lb.

Guintoli/Aprilia Appeal Denied, WSBK Monza Results Stand

International Motorcycling Federation officials have rejected an appeal from Aprilia and rider Sylvain Guintoli over the controversial finish to the second race of the Monza round of the 2013 World Superbike Championship. The official race finish for Race 2 at Monza stands, with Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes in third place and Guintoli fourth. More importantly, Sykes hangs on to the 16 championship points he was awarded for the finish while Guintoli receives 13 for finishing fourth.

EICMA 2013: Aprilia To Enter MotoGP In 2016

Amidst all of the uncertainty with the future of Aprilia’s racing plans, Roberto Colaninno, chairman of the Piaggio Group, which owns Aprilia, confirmed Tuesday at EICMA that the brand was in fact making a full-fledged return to MotoGP in 2016 as a factory team. Colaninno was quoted as saying, “In 2016 Aprilia will return to MotoGP to win and match the success it had in [World] Superbikes.” Aprilia has been going through some turmoil of late when it was announced that technical director Luigi Dall’Igna was jumping ship to rival Ducati. This announcement aims to quell the turmoil and refocus the racing team’s attention.
