Mon, 25 Jul 2011

Piaggio USA has announced a price cut and special financing offer on the Aprilia Tuono 1000R to help clear inventory for the impending arrival of the streetfighter’s successor, the Aprilia Tuono V4R. The winner of our 2009 Streetfighters Shootout, the Aprilia Tuono 1000R is regularly priced at $12,999, but until Sept. 30, 2011, Aprilia USA is cutting the price to as low as $7,499 (for the 2007 edition of the Tuono).

Small steps to a bright future

Tue, 16 Nov 2010

A small but very significant addition to the BSB paddock in 2010 has been the Racing Steps Foundation GP125 team.  RSF is an organisation founded by wealthy businessman Graham Sharp, to help talented youngsters with no funding make their way up the motorsport ladder. As a boy, Sharpe wanted to become a racing driver but soon realised without a serious amount of cash, this was virtually impossible. He never forgot this dilemma so is now in the business of making dreams come true for young UK racers in Karting, GP2 and Motorcycle Racing.

WSBK 2013: Portimao Race Report

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Marco Melandri and Eugene Laverty split a pair of victories at Portugal’s Portimao circuit while Sylvain Guintoli took advantage of some misfortune to his championship rivals to increase his lead in the 2013 World Superbike Championship standings. Guintoli has been leading or sharing the lead in the championship since winning the first race of Round 1 in Australia, but amazingly continues to lead despite having just that single victory after six rounds. The Aprilia rider has accomplished this through his consistency (Guintoli leads all racers with nine podium finishes in 12 races) and ability to finish each race (he’s the only rider in the top seven without a DNF).
