Aprilia RSVR Factory tech info
Aprilia RSVR Factory description
2005 Aprilia RSVR Factory in the most desirable “Black Lion” colors. Excellent original condition, very well maintained and with new BT06 tires.
I bought this bike in August 2015 and have only done 300 miles on it since then. I had not owned a bike for 30 years and really wanted to try a modern V twin. My thinking was to take my wife on the back for rides out and when I got the bike I bought a passenger seat pad for it. Of course being a spots bike it was too uncomfortable for her and so not long after I bought a 1975 Z1 which she loves riding on the back of. I have loved riding the RSVR but the Z1 got me into other older bikes and then I bought a Trident, and then a couple of other bikes. I have become hooked on owning bikes I had in the 1970’s and 80’s and have just bought an RZ350 on eBay, which is being delivered next week. So now with 6 bikes, the RSVR is not getting ridden at all and its time to make some room in the garage.
The bike has all the usual features found in the rare Factory edition: Ohlins forks and shock, adjustable Ohlins steering damper, superlight Oz magnesium wheels, and lots of extra carbon fiber (mudguards, side scoops, side panels). Paint is all original and is in excellent condition throughout. The only small flaw being 3 light scratches on the right side fairing (I tried to show them in the pics but they can be barely seen) which was done by the shipping company when they delivered the bike to me. The scratches are only on the decal itself. The decals on the tank have some very small bubbles (common issue) as do the tank protectors – both easily replaced.
The bike had been maintained very well before I bought it and had the following work/upgrades done before i bought it:
Power Commander PCIII installed
Fuel pump filter replaced;
Recalled fuel line replaced
Map*2 switch
Hausa Battery 2014
Evap canister & lines removed
Valves checked at 21K
Ohlins steering damper serviced 2014
OEM clear signal lenses
Clutch slave seal replaced
Engine oil and filter changed 500 miles ago
Stock gearing 15/40
Puig dark smoke windscreen
New DID chain
Tail tidy
Leo Vince pipes
RSV4 footrests, allowing for rear brake master cylinder relocation (this is a good mod since it is very difficult to bleed the rear master cylinder in its stock location on the RSVR)
Being a former race mechanic I went through the cycle parts completely when I got the bike and did the following work - all the below parts have less than 300 miles on them:
Installed battery tender lead
Ferodo sinterXRAC brake pads in front (these cost $200)
Brake fluid replaced front/rear with Motul RBF660 Aftermarket levers
Engine oil and filter (Motul 5100)
Spark plugs
OEM air filter
Also, the fork oils seals were weeping so I had them replaced by Dan Kyle (Main Ohlins dealer in Seaside, CA)
It did have Dunlop Q2 tires when I got it which were a bit old and hard so I recently fitted a set of new Bridgestone BT016 Hypersports (120/70, 190/55) which only have about 10 miles on them.
Clean and clear CA title in my name, with registration paid through August. The bike has both factory keys (keys fit all locks) and the toolkit.
Additional spare parts included:
Factory passenger seat pad (unused)
OEM air filter
Hiflo oil filter and O ring
Oil drain bolt washers
4 Spark plugs
This bike is in outstanding condition and very well maintained. All electrics work and it runs and handles beautifully. It has no known faults and needs nothing doing to it. It is priced to sell simply because I need the space and have too many other bikes.
The bike is sold as is, without warranty, and is located in Hollister, CA. I can help with loading if you use a shipper, since I work from home. $500 deposit with 24 hours and the remainder within 7 days via cash or bank transfer. Paypal accepted for the balance provided the buyer pays the fees.
I uploaded a short walk round video, with start up from cold, on Youtube: https://youtu.be/SSwOatjJbwg |

Aprilia Officially Entering MotoGP In 2015, One Year Ahead Of Schedule
Fri, 12 Sep 2014Aprilia has announced today that it will be re-entering the MotoGP World Championship starting in 2015, one year ahead of schedule. Aprilia has struck a four-year long partnership with Gresini Racing, which currently fields Alvaro Bautista and Scott Redding aboard Honda machinery. With rumors of Gresini’s Go&Fun sponsorship evaporating next year, the deal with Aprilia breathes new life into the team, which can now remain in MotoGP. The press release is vague as to the machinery Aprilia will use next year, but it’s widely believed the 2015 bike will be a massaged version of the RSV4-based ART machine currently being campaigned by Danilo Petrucci.
WSBK 2013: Jerez Race Report
Mon, 21 Oct 2013Eugene Laverty did everything he could, scoring a pair of race wins but it was not enough as Tom Sykes rode smartly and conservatively at the season finale in Spain, securing his first ever World Superbike Championship. Sykes landed in Jerez with a 37-point lead over Laverty and a 38-point lead over Sylvain Guintoli. While Laverty battled Marco Melandri to win Race One, Sykes coasted comfortably in third for most of the race to score 16 points, enough to clinch the title.
