Max Biaggi sucking on a dummy

Mon, 11 Jun 2012

You can't fault Max Biaggi's performance on the track at Misano over the weekend, bagging a double-win on hia Aprilia, but you have to question his podium celebration. We're not sure what's going on here, but suspect it's something to do with his son, who was at the track for the first time to see his old man racing. Perhaps it's Biaggi's way of dedicating his victory to his son or could it be Biaggi's way of saying he's no longer spitting the dummy, something he's earned a reputation of doing over the years.

EICMA 2013: Aprilia To Enter MotoGP In 2016

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

Amidst all of the uncertainty with the future of Aprilia’s racing plans, Roberto Colaninno, chairman of the Piaggio Group, which owns Aprilia, confirmed Tuesday at EICMA that the brand was in fact making a full-fledged return to MotoGP in 2016 as a factory team. Colaninno was quoted as saying, “In 2016 Aprilia will return to MotoGP to win and match the success it had in [World] Superbikes.” Aprilia has been going through some turmoil of late when it was announced that technical director Luigi Dall’Igna was jumping ship to rival Ducati. This announcement aims to quell the turmoil and refocus the racing team’s attention.

Who is Max Biaggi?

Thu, 23 Feb 2012

Max Biaggi opens up to former 250GP rival Jamie Robinson on his 20 years at the top flight of motorcycle racing. Surprisingly, Max grew up in a home without motorcycles and didn't even come in contact with a racetrack until he was 18 years old. Visiting the Vallelunga circuit near Rome, he became hooked on the sight, smell and sounds of racing and with the help of his father, put everything into his dream of becoming a world champion - something he would achieve several years later by becoming a 250GP champion with Aprilia in 1994.
