BMW Rewards MSF RiderCourse Graduates
Fri, 30 Mar 2012BMW Motorrad USA is supporting the Motorcycle Safety Foundation‘s rider training course by offering $500 in riding apparel for recent graduates of the Basic RiderCourse program with the purchase of a new BMW motorcycle. The “Ride Smart Reward” program runs until Dec. 31, 2012 and is valid for anyone who completes the MSF’s BRC.
BMW Reports Q3 2011 Results
Thu, 03 Nov 2011The BMW Group reported a 14.8% increase in motorcycle revenue and a 6.5% increase in unit sales during the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2011. The German manufacturer sold 28,862 units over the quarter, including 26,312 BMW-branded motorcycles and 2,550 units from its Husqvarna subsidiary.
OEMs Plug into Electric Bikes
Sat, 01 Nov 2008KTM introduced its prototype electric motorcycle earlier this week, and electric bike manufacturer Zero Motorcycles almost immediately responded by opening sales on its 2009 Zero X dirt bike (look for our review of the 2008 model next week!). But these two companies aren’t the only ones exploring the possibilities of electric-powered motorcycles. In September, Japan’s largest industrial information journal Nikkei Business Daily reported that both Honda and Yamaha have set target dates for launching their own electric-powered motorcycles.
