BMW Other description

Here we have my Beautiful 1965 BMW R50/2. I purchased this bike from the original owner in the late 80's. It had 18,000 miles on it at the time. Over the years I have ridden it 2 up to many BMW Rallys, sometimes doing 700 miles in a weekend. It has never even hiccuped! About 5 years ago I pulled the top end off just to take a look. It was fine. Ball Honed the bore, new BMW rings and gasket and a valve job. Then I put 100 miles on it and it has been sitting ever since. I would retourque the heads and readjust the valves and not worry about it for another 23,000 miles. I am certain it could be put into proper running order in a couple of hours. Fresh fuel, a battery and go. I have always kept the oils and such clean and changed regularly.
It is completely stock except for the seats and the windshied. I travel by motorcycle a lot, I have owned and ridden many BMWs, Harleys and Indians and this is as comfortable of a Motorcycle as I have ever ridden. I do not really want to sell it, I am just not using it.
If you notice, it has the Ultra Rare VDO cam driven tach. It even has the little light. I have been literally offered thousands of dollars for the tach, but it should stay with the bike. I have set a reserve to where If I do not get my price I will just admire it for a few more years.
This BMW is what they call a Triple Matching #. The Engine, Frame and VIN Tag all match. Clean Florida title, Original Tool Kit and Service Manual.
You could say this Bike Truly is Barn Fresh, as it has been in my Barn for the past 20+years! This baby has the look that is desirable today. You can not even come close to a bike with this much character with a restoration. It is only like this once!
Look closely....ask questions. $500 PayPal deposit required within 3 days of auction end with the balance due in cash or Bank Check. If paid with Bank Check, the Motorcycle will leave my property when the check clears. Thanks and Happy Bidding!!

Vines motorcycle scrappage

Fri, 17 Jul 2009

Following this year’s earlier Budget announcement about the government’s car scrappage scheme, Vines of Guildford BMW has created a similar scheme for motorcycles. Bike owners with motorcycles bought five or more years ago will be given £1,000 off the list price of a new BMW motorcycle when using their old bike as a part-exchange*.  Riders just need to ensure they have at least six months MOT left and the bike must be taxed with clear HPI.  Just like the Government’s car scrappage scheme has been put in place to help drivers, and the car industry, through tough economic times, Vines of Guildford wanted to offer motorcyclists the same opportunity, to purchase a brand new BMW motorcycle with the benefit of the £1,000 part exchange. As well as enjoying this benefit on the purchase price of a new BMW bike, riders can also look forward to complimentary panniers with all new R1200GS and R1200GS Adventure models, and complimentary Zumo sat nav system with the new R1200RT until 30 Sept, plus access to BMW’s Select Finance options to get riders on their bikes straight away with the option to change their new bike every two to three years.

Here are a few things going on around the Motorcycle.com Forum Network: Animated Engines plivez, a new member of the Ducati.ms forums (welcome Plivez!) has a website where he animates motorcycle engines in flash. It’s pretty interesting to see the way a Evo and Twin Cam V twin Harley Davidson engine works. He also has up the crazy BMW flat twin R100 motorcycle engine which seems more complicated then an engine should be!
