For sale here is my beautiful 1972 CJ-750 sidecar motorcycle. Licensed, titled and registered in USA, this bike has been lovingly rebuilt and features the M1S, 32HP, overhead valve engine with electric start and kick starter. Gearbox is four speed plus reverse. Modern upgrades include Mikuni carburetors, aluminum wheels, front disc brake on bike, drum brake on sidecar and solid state ignition (still has points for timing but ignition condenser has been replaced with SS unit in headlamp bell). This bike has a 12V electrical system with a new (2015) lithium battery. She is in excellent condition and as you can see from the photos, is a real head turner. Tires are like new. Included in this sale are a pair of spare carburetors, spare wheel spokes, full set of wheel bearings (all three wheels plus spare), ignition coil, plug wires, spark plugs and clutch cable. Mileage shown in photo (2,173km/ 1,350mi) is original mileage since complete rebuilt and is subject to change as the bike is still being ridden locally. The Chang Jiang 750 traces its lineage to pre-war Germany with the BMW R71. Prior to the German invasion, the Russians were already building their own copies of the BMW R71 and the Chinese, with the help of their Russian Comrades, began production of the CJ750 for their military in the 1950s. Parts for these bikes are extremely readily available and servicing them is a snap- they were designed to be field serviceable by soldiers on the battlefield after all. The sale and transfer of this bike is on an "AS IS" basis, without any express or implied warranties, and no recourse to the Seller. A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of the auction closing, with the remaining balance to be paid in full within seven days of auction end. 2012 BMW S1000RR Engine Recall
Thu, 26 Apr 2012BMW is issuing a recall on the 2012 BMW S1000RR because of a risk of engine failure. According to a post on the official BMW Motorcycles USA Facebook page, the connecting rod bolts may loosen and fall out. This may result cause the engine to seize, creating the risk of a crash.
Used Review: Clover GT3 jacket
Fri, 01 Aug 2008I’ve been wearing this waterproof textile jacket since March and it’s performed very well. The silver colour shows up dirt something rotten, there’s a stark lack of useful pockets and the cut is quite square, but as a jacket to keep the cold and water out it’s been right up to the job. It’s my daily commuting top, one of those jackets you throw on without thinking about it, and now that it’s summer I can’t see the point in getting a replacement anytime soon.

Sun, 20 Mar 2011Make no mistake Cal Crutchlow is doing an amazing job during his short career in Moto GP. He is asking not to be compared to Ben Spies but when you consider Spies had three Moto GP races under his belt at the same point in his career, Cal's 8th position in Qatar qualifying then 11th in the race is a pretty solid start. He ended 2010 as one of the best world's best superbike riders but the 800cc Moto GP machines require different riding skills. Watching trackside it is easy to see the the riders have to brake later backshift quicker before getting back on the throttle on the corner entry. With the help of advanced electronics this loads the front tyre earlier giving the potential for greater momentum that continues past the apex to the corner exit and beyond.
