BMW Other description

2007 BMW K1200GT, We???ve had a handful of the K1200GT???s this year and by far people overwhelmingly seem to love this Cristal Gray Metallic color over all the other great colors, perhaps it???s because it looks good in any kind of light or maybe because it shows so little road dirt. Whatever the reason we are pleased to have another nice example to offer to our clients, current or future here in the Washington, DC ??? Suburban Maryland and Northern Virginia region. This one was originally sold by another BMW dealer in the area but then came to Bob???s for much of the service including the replacement of the ABS pump last year in July at around 10,500 miles which means that part is covered under BMW???s factory parts warranty through mid-2014 as an added value. It???s had just one owner since new as well.We just completed our usual extensive servicing along with an extended test ride to see it not only passed the Maryland State Inspection but also the exclusive Bob???s BMW ADVANTAGE CERTIFIED check list. Even though the oil and filter were changed last year at the same 10,500 mile point we???ve refreshed everything by undertaking a full 12,000 mile plus annual service so the new owner has a truly fresh starting point. We installed a fresh set of Michelin Pilot tires with Nitrogen for added life and consistent road temperatures, we did the retrofitting of the timing chain guard under warranty, converted the existing standard accessory outlet to a far better Powerlet, replaced the slightly rusty front brake disc hardware, updated the can chain tensioners, and added the missing front fork leg reflectors. As is SOP at Bob???s it was then taken out for an extensive test ride one final time before being brought to the sales floor.

IIHS Asks NHTSA to Make ABS Brakes Mandatory for All Street-legal Motorcycles in US

Fri, 07 Jun 2013

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the Highway Loss Data Institute have submitted a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration petitioning in favor of making anti-lock brakes mandatory for all new on-highway motorcycles. The letter, addressed to David Strickland, NHTSA administrator, included a recent IIHS study on the effects of ABS on motorcycle fatal crash rates. The report found ABS technology reduces the rate of fatal crashes by 31%, while collision claim rates were 20% lower with ABS-equipped motorcycles.

New car firm shows interest in bikes too

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

NORMALLY we wouldn’t get terribly excited about an electric moped but this as-yet-unreleased design comes from a new firm that’s already making waves in the car industry. Qoros might not be a name you’re familiar with. The firm has yet to start selling cars in Europe, although that will change soon.
