BMW Announces 2014 Model Updates and New K1600GT Sport

BMW announced a new variant to its six-cylinder K-series and other small updates to returning 2014 models. The 2014 models were first revealed last weekend’s BMW Motorrad Days celebration but we now have full details on the updates. The new 2014 BMW K1600GT Sport is based on the existing K1600GT but adds a special Sakhir Orange/Black Storm Metallic paint job, black gloss-coated wheels, a shorter windscreen and a sportier seat design.

The R1200RT has gone liquid cooled, inheriting the new boxer engine with BMW’s “precision cooling” technology from the new R1200GS. But that’s not all that’s changed on the RT as Editor-in-Chief Kevin Duke points out in the video below from the 2013 EICMA show floor. Here are a few things going on around the Motorcycle.com Forum Network: Animated Engines plivez, a new member of the Ducati.ms forums (welcome Plivez!) has a website where he animates motorcycle engines in flash. It’s pretty interesting to see the way a Evo and Twin Cam V twin Harley Davidson engine works. He also has up the crazy BMW flat twin R100 motorcycle engine which seems more complicated then an engine should be!
