1972 BMW R50/5 excellent running condition. Everything works except the tach needle. Numbers match. 29,463 miles. Bike is complete with toaster tank and factory luggage bags. 1972 was the first year for toaster tanks. As nice as you are ever going to find. Fri, 05 Apr 2013Whilst stretched out bikes aren't that popular over here in the UK, you can certainly appreciate them a whole lot more more when you know they're going to be used at a drag strip. This video shows bike builder and ex-racer Roland Sands work his magic on a BMW S1000RR. Future plans are to increase the engine to 300bhp, and achieve speeds of 220mph.

Mon, 23 Apr 2012The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick.
