BMW R-Series description

As the title states this auction is for a 1978 R100RS Motorsport Edition. This is the one bike I thought I would never sell, but things happen, and so the bike is for sale.A lot of time, effort and money has gone into this bike. The list is as follows:

All the body work has been painted, using the correct Glasurit paint and paint code for the Motorsport. The original pinstripes were left intact, taped over for the painting, then a clearcoat was applied.
The mainframe, subframe and battery tray are powder coated black. New oem rear grabrail. All frame fasteners are stainless steel.
Progressive front fork springs,Koni rear shocks.
The seat is a new stock reproduction attached to the cowl with stainless steel screws.
New BMW handgrips and footpeg rubbers.
New sealed battery.
Speedometer and odometer rebuilt and calibrated and set to the actual mileage. Carbs rebuilt ,new floats.Complete new reproduction exhaust system.
Stainless front brake lines and rebuilt master cylinder and calipers. Lightened flywheel and new clutch. New sealed battery.
The tires are Metzler Lazertecs and have about 1200 miles on them.
The toolkit, air pump and cable lock are all there.
Owning and restoring this bike for the five years I've owned it has been a labor of love.It is fun to ride, runs beautiful, looks beautiful.I get compliments on it constantly.Mileage may change as I still ride the bike.
Even with all the work and upgrades though the bike is not perfect. She is a rider, not a garage queen. There are a couple of chips in the side covers, there is a small dent from a slow speed fall near one of the rear footpegs.
There are still a couple of items that need attention. The pushrod tubes will need new seals soon. The previous owner started a dual plug conversion, one of the cylinders heads is set up for this the other in not.
The carb tops are chromed and the windscreen has an abrasion on one corner from cleaning some glue off of it.
I think that covers everything, all in all this is a nice Motorsport for ride or show.I get compliments on the bike everytime I have it out.
One thing to remember is this is a 35 year old motorcycle and is being sold with no warranties,I have described it to the best of my ability.
Any questions feel free to contact me.
I will not release the bike until I have payment(cash) in hand and or cashiers check clears.

On Aug-27-13 at 18:01:09 PDT, seller added the following information:

Note: The first picture shows the bike with Progressive rear shocks. The bike currently has Koni shocks.I didn't realize this when I posted the pictures.I always like the way the bike looked in that picture so I added it without thinking about the fact I took that picture before I swapped the shocks.

While the car remains unreleased, a few images of the new BMW 4-Series Convertible have leaked online apparently sourced from an official brochure for the new car.

EICMA 2013: 2014 BMW R1200RT First Impressions Video

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

The R1200RT has gone liquid cooled, inheriting the new boxer engine with BMW’s “precision cooling” technology from the new R1200GS. But that’s not all that’s changed on the RT as Editor-in-Chief Kevin Duke points out in the video below from the 2013 EICMA show floor. With a new K1600GT-inspired look, more power and a number of factory-installed options, one of our favorite touring bikes is better than ever.   Get the Flash Player to see this player.
