BMW R-Series description

1983 BMW 800cc air head built to shred the mountain roads, it's tuned perfect, the carbs have been rejeted for the header. It started life as a R/80rt & had a full fairing so a lot of weigh has been removed, it's less than 400lbs now and has a great power to weight ratio and real good balance due to the low center of gravity with it's boxer engine and with it's dual Brembo brakes it stops on a dime.
Everything has been replaced all wearable rubber boots, seals, bearings, even the rubber trim rings on the tach & speedo, neck bearings, fork seals, new customs shocks, 2in1 exhaust header, new over sized tires and lots of little extras..
Between labor and parts, this was a $18,000 build, this is a perfect bike that need nothing.
I'm sure the mileage on the odometer is correct, when I disassembled the motor the pistons and valves looked like new.
I bought this bike two years ago from a museum type of collection in Tennessee where it had been stored for many years. I still have the original fairing and other original parts that goes with it if wanted.
It's a great handling bike with tons of power that needs nothing but a rider.
Since It's been finished I have put almost 1600 miles on it and readjusted the valves and changed the oil, so it's ready to go anywhere, I did about 60 miles on the interstate at 80+ the bike was so smooth that
I could hardly tell that the motor was running.

2009 BMW S1000RR Entering Production

Wed, 04 Feb 2009

We’re finally able to share some pictures and info about the production version of BMW’s new literbike, the S1000RR. We now know that it has a claimed dry weight of 403 pounds, which should be competitive with its Japanese literbike rivals. The all-new inline-Four powerplant displaces 999cc, and its cylinder head is said to be very narrow and compact, with the valves actuated by “very small” cam followers that are nearly at Formula 1 levels in size.

BMW Offers Education in Adventure

I was never a fan of mathematics in high school. This would be of no surprise to any of my teachers or parents, I assure you. My justification was that none of my instructors could explain the practical applications for such numerical oddities as logarithms, permutations, or binomial theorem.
