Buell Lightning description
****** Buell didn't produce many of these, just over 1500 of them.******
2003 Buell Lightning XB9 SL. The "L" denominates "Low". These have a lowered suspension and seat giving a lower seat height. It seems to handle the curves much better than the standard XB9s that I have ridden.
The bike has been dropped on the left side resulting in a tank dent and other minor scratches. All of which is cosmetic. I have to many toys and projects and not enough time. Though I am still riding it, but only three times this year, so it's for sale.
- Michelin Pilot Powers look new and have approximately 2000 miles of use.
- Brake pads also replace about 2000 miles ago.
- Pro Taper bars with Ducati end mirror.
- Rear fender elimination.
- Passenger foot pegs removed and will be included along with other spares, such as two can of Buell dark gray metallic paint...the same color of the tail light housing, if wanted.
- New throttle cable this season.
- I always used Mobil 1 V-twin oil and buell filters.
- Rear exhaust baffle has been removed making it shorter and essentially a glass pack style flow through muffler. The sound is great and how it should have come from Buell.
I have a clear title. It is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction if it sells early.
Thanks for looking and best of luck bidding.
