Can-Am All description

This is a 2014 model which means it has the upgraded, 1330cc 3-cylinder Rotax engine and a semi-automatic, 6-speed transmission with a paddle shifter and a reverse gear. Final drive is through a belt (like a Harley). It has ABS and a sophisticated stability enhancement system. When you stop for a traffic light, your feet stay on the large floorboards and you just relax. Light turns green, simply twist the throttle and go, upshifting at any selected shift point. Cruise all day seated on the big comfortable saddle and electrically  adjust the windshield just where you want it for a buffet free ride all the while listening to the great audio system while occasionally glancing at the Garmin ZUMO GPS to keep you on course. Set the cruise control on some legal speed and the miles just melt away. It is a completely new experience, especially if you haven't yet ridden one of these fantastic three-wheelers before. In about 10 miles you will have mastered this new type of bike and will wonder why you waited so long.

One reason you waited is probably the price of  this top-of-the-line LIMITED model Can-Am. This is a very expensive bike the out the door price when new was about $30,500, and I have since added some important ($$) items, like the heated saddle with backrest, an after-market horn (LOUD!) a rotary drive belt tensioner, and a Blue Tooth Gondle for the audio system. When comparing Can-Ams on the market, be sure you're looking at a LIMITED model. In fact, go to a dealer to pick up a brochure on the new Can-Ams (virtually identical to the 2014s) and read about the accessories and other features that come with each of the three trim levels.

There's loads of space for packing everything you "need" while touring. The forward baggage trunk contains a large, hard case piece of luggage with wheels and telescoping handle - - - talk about arriving in first-class!. Both you and your passenger will enjoy the heated saddle and heated handgrips (yes, passenger too) . There is a dedicated 12-V connector for my heated clothing and if you bid the buy-it-now price, I will include this virtually new heated jacket. I am 79 now and am retiring from a life long affair with bikes. This Spyder will carry someone for many years into the future in style, comfort and reliability. I believed it is priced right for a quick sale. When seeing the bike, if you believe I have misrepresented it in any way, your deposit will be returned. I have all the maintenance records, all done at a Can-Am dealer.  All three tires look to be barely worn and I am not in the habit of abusing machinery. I can keep the bike in my garage until you pick it up or arrange shipping. I am retired, so I would also be happy to deliver the (paid for) bike to you.

Give me a call if you have any questions, Fred, 941-416-0931 or email through eBay, or aa5pilot@verizon.net

Thanks for looking and Ride Safe!

Bombardier Designs Alternative-Fuel Unicycle

Tue, 17 Mar 2009

Not only has Bombardier designed and built snowmobiles, planes, trains and the Can-Am Spyder, the privately held Quebec-based company also tinkers with prototypes like the Embrio – the French Canadian answer to the Segway Human Transporter and resembles closely to the “Uno”. Unlikely to ever see actual production, this one-wheeled concept uses gyroscopic technology to balance its rider. The vehicle was allegedly designed to demonstrate what we bipedal humanoids might be using for transportation in the year 2025.
