Low mileage iconic bike with just over 4k, usually starts first kick, runs strong and brakes sharp. If you saw this bike listed a month ago, I've done a bunch more work on it since then and it's now rideable. This was a barn find that I've cleaned up and worked on over the past 6 weeks, it was sitting in dry, dusty storage for 30 years before that. I'm not an expert and it still needs a few parts and adjustments but this is a rare model in good running condition with a clean open Massachusettes title. It has lots of compression and power. Recent work includes: Carb clean and rebuild Oil change New battery Checked that wheels are true Checked valve adjustment Checked points adjustment Made sure all control cables are attached properly and functioning This is a running project that still needs some TLC but it's almost complete and it runs strong with no oil leaks or exhaust leaks. The tank is solid with no rot, but it needs to be properly cleaned out and the petcocks need new seals. Seat is clean with no cracks or tears. I've been test riding it with an auxiliary fuel bottle that I hang off the handlebars. It needs new tires, new bulbs and the tail light wire needs to be reconnected. They will have to travel a total of 30,000km, visiting Europe, Russia, Mongolia, China, Japan and the United States, passing the baton to each other like an Olympic torch.

Mon, 10 May 2010Following Joe Kopp's historic win on a Ducati in AMA flat track, alarms bells have been going off in the heads of many, "Hey why doesn't Nicky Hayden jump on the Duke flat tracker?" Well the guys at the excellent American publication Road Racer X are running an online petition and a great marketing wake-up call for Ducati to get Nicky on board the bike for the Indy Mile on August 28th. If he won, and it's a big if considering he hasn't raced flat track in a long time, Nicky would complete the AMA Grand Slam which encompasses victories in the following; half-mile dirt track, mile dirt track, short track, TT, and a Superbike race win. It's an exclusive club with only four members, Dick Mann, Kenny Roberts, Doug Chandler and Bubba Shobert.
