Ducati Hypermotard description

Selling my beloved 2013 Ducati Hyperstrada with only 2,500 miles. Few bikes have received better care. It's a joy to ride. So light and nimble and has a bit of dual-sport ability to ride dirt roads and explore. Over $8K worth of very carefully chosen and installed modifications that make it better in every way. 

It's one-of-a-kind painted in a stunning Sapphire Blue. Amazing, like-new condition, always garage kept, and runs perfectly. I'm moving abroad and can't take it with me.

Price is $10,000. I'm firm on price. It's MORE than fair considering there's nearly that much worth of accessories on this bike alone. I'm more interested in it going to a good home than I am getting every dollar out of it, otherwise I would price it higher.

The MSRP on this bike was $13,795. Today they start at $14,295. With dealer fees and tax, it's close to $16,000 out the door and that's before any of the modifications. With the modifications, and it's around a $22,000 bike.

This bike has been improved in every way from an ultra lightweight lithium battery (starts flawlessly, every time, even after sitting for months during winter) to billet aspheric mirrors, upgraded turn signals, custom seat, Garmin GPS with tire pressure sensors, electronic gear indicator, etc. It also comes with a $550 race stand that allows you to jack it up off the ground with one hand and wheel it around anywhere in your garage with ease.

Also comes with the Ducati saddlebags not visible in some of the pictures.

Absolutely zero issues with this bike. It functions perfectly in every way and all services have been professionally done.

I am the second owner. First owner bought it new from a Portland, OR dealer in July 2013 and sold it to me 6 months later with 900 miles on it because his wife was getting on him about it. The day I bought it, a very respected motorcycle shop conducted a general check-over and did a brake fluid flush, and I spent $160 to have it professionally detailed.

The bike is fully protected from a tip over with the Rizoma handlebar end caps, axle sliders, and frame sliders. I've never done it, but the bike could gently fall over and nothing would be damaged with all of these protections on it.

Never in my life have I seen so many Ducatis, but then that's hardly surprising as I took this photo at World Ducati Week 2012, in Misano, last week. Although I knew it was going to be packed from wall-to-wall with the Bologna-made bikes, I never realised there would be so many Panigales there. Of all of the big-cc sportsbikes, I reckon one in five was a Panigale.

Rainy BSB tests are nothing new

THE combination of bad weather in the UK and a European testing ban means that most BSB teams will now start the season with very little track time. This sounds like a disaster for the top teams but history has proved this isn’t necessarily true and it sometimes doesn’t matter how much pre season preparation has taken place.  Back in 2002 Sean Emmett won on the IFC Ducati at the opening Silverstone round after first riding it in unofficial practice the same weekend. Steve Hislop took the other win on Pauls Bird’s well sorted Ducati. More recently in 2009, Leon Camier took an untested new model R1 Yamaha to victory at the Brands Hatch opener after GSE took delivery of the bike just the week before. Sylvain Guintoli won the other race on a well developed, well tested Crescent Suzuki. You could argue if no one has had testing then it is a level playing field but you have to feel for riders moving up to the superbike class in the world’s toughest national series.  Tyco Suzuki’s PJ Jacobson is one such rider but having spent some time with him over the past few weeks he seems to be taking it all in his stride. It may be the confidence of youth or maybe the fact he has won in every other class he has entered in his short BSB career, but I suspect he fancies at least standing on the Superbike podium at Brands (He also does a bit of ice racing which is not dissimilar to the this year’s UK testing).  The testing ban was implemented with all the best cost cutting intentions and if it had been any other year in the past decade all would be well. The teams may be feeling frustrated but the fans should be excited. With so many unknowns, the 2013 BSB opener at Brands Hatch could be the best ever!

So It Begins: Audi and Lamborghini to Appear at World Ducati Week

Audi‘s purchase of Ducati is still waiting for regulatory approval but that hasn’t stopped the two companies from taking advantage of their impending union. Audi will make its presence known at the upcoming World Ducati Week celebrations, June 21-24 at the newly-renamed Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. The German automaker will supply a range of cars to Ducati staff and management during World Ducati Week, and show off some of its high-end models such as the S6, S8 and the Audi R8 LMS (pictured above).
