Ducati Monster description

Beautiful and Unmolested Ducati S4RS Tricolore.  Super Low miles, almost show room condition!

At the time of its release in 2008, the S4RS Tricolore was the ultimate expression of the Monster. Just 400 were produced in the beautiful “Three Color” scheme, and only 250 made it to the US.  There is a high amount of exclusivity that comes with owning this machine and it turns heads and starts conversation wherever you go.  I purchased from a collector with just 900 miles on it and turned it into my own collector, just riding it lightly for the past 3 years (much better mechanically for it to be started and run a few times a year than just sit), but otherwise on display in my office. The previous owner installed new belts right before my purchase, not because of miles but he just thought it a good preventative maintenance thing to do.

The S4RS was already special as it got the 998cc superbike L-Twin that put out 130 horsepower, fully-adjustable Ohlins suspension, and more. But this limited edition added the special paint scheme, individualized number plate, and one-off clutch cover. Carbon fiber was also used for the silencer cover, exhaust heat guard, front mudguard, radiator covers, and more.

This specific Ducati Monster S4RS Tricolore  is #101/400 and has only 1133 original miles.

Tasteful mods has a Cat eliminator pipe (gets rid of ugly cat box underneath and flows better) in conjunction with a Fat Duc O2 sensor which makes this run crisp compared to stock, (all of this installed and tuned by an experience & certified Ducati Mechanic) folding bar end mirror, aftermarket grips and aluminum extended kick stand which prevents the dreaded "tip over" from the too short and flimsy stock stand. Also included are the original keys and manual.

The only flaw is there is a slight rub on the right rear frame handle under the seat cowl.  (the plastic seat cowl must have been off a bit and rubbed the paint on a ride.  It hardly visible, is on the frame and not the bodywork and would be very simple to color match and touch up with gold paint. This is shown in the photos.

If you are looking for one of the cleanest, nicest Low mile examples of this bike in the world, this is your chance!

2014 Ducati Monster 1198 Spied

Tue, 25 Jun 2013

The Ducati Monster celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, but it looks like year 21 will be just as important, with the introduction of a new model powered by Ducati‘s liquid-cooled Testastretta 1198cc engine. No less than three different publications have released spy photos of the new 2014 Ducati Monster today, though the simultaneous timing of article from MCN, Moto.it and Motociclismo.it would indicate some coordination from Ducati’s PR machine. Official details are, of course, unavailable, but the photos do provide quite a bit of information.

Investindustrial to Sell Ducati

Mon, 13 Feb 2012

Ducati may be up for sale again, according to a report by The Financial Times. The Italian manufacturer’s primary owner, private equity firm Investindustrial, is reportedly looking for a buyer in either the automotive industry or a rival motorcycle maker. The firm’s chairman, Andrea Bonomi, told Financial Times the time is right for finding a buyer.

That used to be a Ducati 1098

I spotted this on my tinterweb travels. It's allegedly the demonstrator bike from a Ducati dealers on the isle of Jersey, in the English channel. The only information to hand is that the bike spat the rider off and the bike hit a tree - the only one for miles - and burst into flames.
