Ducati Superbike description

1990 Ducati 851 Superbike with 16975 miles and a very meticulous owner history.  This is THE 851 to buy.

Never raced, never damaged and never seen a track day.  Recent relocation has reduced my workshop space; therefore I have reluctantly decided to put this bike up for auction.

VIN: ZDM1HB6P1LB001331

Engine Number: 001285

This is one of the most exciting motorcycles I have ever ridden and owned.

The bike runs incredibly well, last service performed at 15100 miles and included new belts, valve adjustment, oil and filter change, new chain and new starter sprag clutch.

Meticulously maintained, service history included.

Many great upgrades including later 851 Gold Brembo front and rear brake calipers, Ohlins rear shock, beautiful aftermarket wheels with fairly new Pirelli Diablo tires.  Other upgrades include a very comfortable Corbin seat, carbon fiber front and rear fenders, CRG Roll-a-Click adjustable brake and clutch levers, Hyperpro steering damper, CRG bar end mirrors as well as Yoyodyne clutch and clutch slave cylinder.  AFAM 41 tooth rear aluminum sprocket, 15 tooth stock front sprocket and 520 chain.   An original Ducati oil cooler has also been fitted with all original parts.  GREAT sounding Arrow exhaust.

Clean CA title, currently registered and insured.

Original Owner’s Manual, tool kit and both original keys are present.  Many extra parts included, see photos:  Front and rear wheel stands, various maintenance parts including two oil filters, complete EMS valve adjustment shim kit as well as some original coolant hoses and various hardware parts are all included.  A copy of the 851 Service manual and a copy of the Parts Catalog are included.  Original front and rear fenders as well as various original body panels that are no longer available from Ducati and two passenger seats are also included.

The bike is also being advertised elsewhere; I reserve the right to end the auction early if the bike is sold before the auction ends.

Feel free to email with any questions.

Casey Stoner To Be Named MotoGP Legend

Fri, 11 Oct 2013

There’s no question Casey Stoner was (and still is) one of the best riders ever to throw a leg over a motorcycle. His accomplishments on two wheels, especially his championships on both Ducati and Honda machinery, are proof. Next week at the MotoGP round at Phillip Island in Australia, Stoner will join a distinct group of riders as he will be officially inducted into the MotoGP Hall of Fame.

Ducati to Race Under MotoGP’s Open Class

Fri, 28 Feb 2014

Ducati announced its MotoGP team will compete under the new “Open” class instead of the “Factory” class the other major manufacturers are adopting. Ducati declared its decision on the Feb. 28 deadline for teams to declare which of the two different class regulations they will use for the 2014 season.

Wesll Quad Prototype

Mon, 09 Feb 2009

A number of manufacturers have tinkered with various three-wheeled motorcycle applications over the years. Companies like Piaggio, Can-Am, Brudeli and even Harley-Davidson have produced unique trikes with ranging levels of success. The Wesll Corporation is attempting to do one better, literally, as it develops a four-wheeled mechanism that could be applied to many different kinds of bikes.
