Thin dual head-lamps, dual underseat exhaust, single-sided swingarm and sumptuous bodywork evoke visions of the legendary 916, which is exactly whatDucati was aiming for. Key technologies derived from the company's recent MotoGP racing success have allowed the 1098 to narrow the gap between the Japanese bikes so much that it actually takes top billing in a few areas normally dominated by the Big Four.
Utilizing the already capable 1098 as a platform, Ducati's 1098S incorporates premium components designed to satisfy the most dedicated sportbike riders, at a cost of $4,000 over the price of the standard 1098. We recently took this 2 owner 1098S in on trade from a private collector in Florida. This Duc has been adult owned, never laid down, never tracked and ridden gingerly. Keanu Reeves on the Ducati Diavel
Mon, 12 Dec 2011Keanu Reeves recently took time out from filming his latest movie for GQ magazine by doing what he loves, riding motorcycles. Back home in L.A Keanu has three Norton Commandos amongst his collection - a Fastback, a Roadster and an Interstate. For the shoot Keanu was tasked with ridng around the Chobham Test Track near Chertsey on the Ducati Diavel, commenting on the bike he said: "I love this bike.
2014 WSBK – Laguna Seca Results
Mon, 14 Jul 2014Marco Melandri rebounded from last week’s disappointing Portimao round to win Race One at Laguna Seca while Tom Sykes extended his championship lead with a win in a red-flagged Race Two. Melandri got taken out of the second Portimao race after his Aprilia teammate Sylvain Guintoli slid into his RSV4. Melandri looked eager to make up for that DNF, leading every lap of Race One on his way to his third win of the season.
Ducati 1199 Panigale On The Dyno
Mon, 23 Jan 2012Italian magazine Motociclismo is one of the largest and most influential motorcycle publications in all of Europe, and they’ve captured this clip of a Ducati test rider running the new 1199 Panigale on the dyno. Rider wearing full gear aside (he even flips down his faceshield!), what sticks out to me is how quickly the new Superquadro engine accelerates through its rev range. I was also impressed at the length it took before the rev limiter was reached.
