    Bonhams Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction Featuring Silverman Ducatis

    Silverman Museum Racing will add a number of rare and historic Ducati motorcycles to the upcoming Bonhams motorcycle auction at Bally’s Hotel and Casino, January 9, 2014. This is in addition to the impressive collection of Harley-Davidsons from the Pierce collection headlining the auction. Comprised of Italian thoroughbreds, the Silverman collection is one of the most renowned in the world and is based largely around competition models. For instance, featured is a 1973 750SS Imola Short Stroke.

    Nicky Hayden Signs Contract Extension with Ducati

    Ducati has signed Nicky Hayden to a one-year contract extension, retaining the Kentucky native for the 2013 MotoGP season. Hayden, who turns 31 on July 31, has raced for Ducati‘s factory team since 2009. During this period, Hayden has been somewhat overshadowed by his teammates, first by Casey Stoner and now Valentino Rossi.

     HRC Executive Vice President Shuhei Nakamoto and Ducati General Director Filippo Preziosi attracted some major media attention as they enjoyed a lengthy but very public chat in the Estoril paddock. Some speculated they were chewing the fat over Stoner’s brilliance now that even Rossi is struggling to get close to the podium on the D800cc Ducati. Others had no doubt it was the rule change for Moto GP machines moving to 1000cc in 2012 that was being debated.
