Harley-Davidson Dyna description

For sale is the 2006 35th Anniversary Edition of the Harley Davidson Super Glide -- FXDI35 (number 1,076 of only 3,500 made).  It has a fuel injected 1450 cc engine (same engine used on the heavier touring models), so this bike does have some get up and go.  It has only 11,360 miles and was always serviced at the local Harley Davidson Dealer.

If you've researched these bikes, you know that this is not your average Harley Davidson Dyna model.  Some notable features and upgrades from the factory on this bike model are:

  • Unique paint scheme of Pearl White Glacier with Red and Blue accents...a throw back color scheme from the first 1971 Willie G. Davidson model.
  • 6 speed transmission which was first introduced in 2006.  The 35th anniversary edition was the first bike to get this major improvement.
  • Lots of additional chrome on the belt guard, sprocket cover, electrical panel cover, and coil cover.
  • Anniversary medallions on the fuel tank, including the infamous "Number One" logo recessed in the leather console.
  • Chrome aluminum profile laced wheels (this is a huge upgrade over standard laced wheels).
  • New wrap around wide rear fender to cover an also new wide, aggressive 160 mm rear tire.
  • Others new features too many to list.

Now to list some of the upgrades.  The most notable of these are:

  • Satelite radio with chrome handlebar speakers (a nice touch for a cruiser bike).
  • Harley Davidson key fob activated security system.
  • Harley Davidson tachometer.
  • Harley Davidson quick release windshield.
  • Harley Davidson leather saddle bags.
  • Screamin Eagle performance exhaust.
  • Race tuner to specifically dial in the upgraded factory exhaust system.
  • Harley Davidson engine guard with mounted driving lights.
  • Harley Davidson highway foot pegs (great for those longer trips).
  • Harley Davidson backrest with USA eagle logo.
  • Harley Davidson chrome headlight visor.
  • Harley Davidson LED rear tail light assembly.
  • LED lights on the engine and frame (soft blue color) - it's a head turner when the sun goes down!

Shelved Harley-Davidson Penster Tilting Trike Prototypes Revealed

Thu, 04 Aug 2011

The Harley-Davidson Museum has pulled the covers off discarded prototypes of a leaning three-wheeled motorcycle developed by The Motor Company. Harley-Davidson commissioned automobile hot rodding legend John Buttera to build the original prototype (pictured above) in 1998. Codenamed the “Penster”, the Trike looks like it could have been an earlier version of the Can-Am Spyder, but it had a tilting front end similar to the Piaggio MP3.
