Harley-Davidson Other description

FOR SALE:
1940 ULH 80ci HARLEY DAVIDSON FLATHEAD BOBBER.

I BOUGHT THIS BIKE AT AN ESTATE SALE OF A FRIEND THAT PASSED AWAY DEC. OF 2015. MY FRIEND WAS THE OWNER OF THE BIKE SINCE 1976. I HAVE A CERTIFIED/NOTARIZED COPY OF THE DEATH CERTIFICATE SHOULD YOU WANT SUBSTANIATION. BECAUSE THIS WAS AN ESTATE SALE, I HAD TO REGISTER/TITLE THE BIKE IN MY NAME ON 9/16. EVERYTHING IS 100% CLEAR & CLEAN. I HAVE COPIES OF MY FRIENDS REGISTRATION AND TITLE DATING BACK TO 1977.

THE BIKE: (please bare with me, I'm not an expert on flatheads)
THIS BIKE WAS MY FRIEND'S DAILY RIDER. JUST BEFORE HIS PASSING, HE CONVERTED THE BIKE TO 12 VOLTS WITH A NEW CYCLE ELECTRIC GENERATOR AND REGULATOR. THE REGULATOR IS AN ELECTRONIC "LOOK ALIKE" OF THE OLD DELCO-REMY STOCK TYPE. HE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF RE-WIRING THE BIKE WHEN HE PASSED. ALSO, AS SEEN IN THE PARTS PHOTO, IS A NEW S&S "E" CARB WITH SPACER BLOCKS HE WAS GOING TO INSTALL. PIPES WERE REMOVED DURING THE WIRING PROCESS. OTHER THAN BLOWING THE DUST OF THE BIKE, I'VE DONE NOTHING TO IT. TRANSMISSION IS A EARLY 4 SP. RATCHET TOP. I BELIEVE THE TANKS ARE OF A 45,GAS ON LEFT SIDE, OIL ON RIGHT SIDE. I WAS TOLD THE SPRINGER FRONT END WAS ORIGINALLY STOCK BUT HAS HAD MODS TO IT. I PLEAD THE 5TH ON THE SPRINGER AS I REALLY DON'T KNOW. WHAT I DO KNOW IS HE WAS RIDING THE BIKE RIGHT UP TO THE 12 VOLT AND CARB CONVERSION BEFORE HE PASSED.

PARTS SHOWN IN PHOTOS;(L TO R)
Throttle cables & grips
Foot rest bracket
Jockey shift foot bracket
Brake bracket/foot rest
2-12v bulbs
12v, 5 ohm coil
Clutch rod
Kicker shaft
Exhaust pipes
Throttle cable housing
Old H-D air cleaner (complete)
"New" S&S "E" carb with spacer blocks
Linkert M48 carb
SU carb
Bendix carb
Star hub cover
2-distributors
1-HD, 32E, 6v generator (complete)
1-generator brush holder
1-SET OF OLD H-D LEATHER SADDLE BAGS WITH "HARLEY DAVIDSON" EMBOSSED ON FRONT, WITH SILVER MEDALLIONS AND STARS. THEY HAVE BEEN REPAIRED OVER THE YEARS BUT ARE FUNCTIONAL FOR THEIR AGE.

ALL PARTS SHOWN CAME WITH THE BIKE.
GUYS, I'VE TRIED TO REPRESENT EVERYTHING TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY. A BATTERY, COMPLETE THE WIRING, INSTALL CARB AND PIPES AND THE BIKE WILL RUN AS IT DID WHEN MY FRIEND STARTED THE 12V AND NEW CARB UPDATE.  F.Y.I.. BOTH "BELLY" NUMBERS ON LOWER LEFT AND LOWER RIGHT OF ENGINE MATCH. THE NUMBERS ARE BOTH 40 1618.

THANKS,
DAN

Motorcycle Buying Tips For Women

Fri, 17 May 2013

Over the past few years, especially since the height of the economic crisis, more and more women have turned to motorcycling both as a way to save on fuel costs, but also to experience the joys of the open road. In an article recently published by Consumer Reports, some tips are provided for women looking to enter the sport for the first time. The first bit of advice is to “Sit on a lot of different bikes first,” says Angela Annamalai of Shelby’s Powersports in Bronx, New York.
