Very rare 1949 Spring Fork OHV 74 CI Harley Davidson FL. Motorcycle is complete as found, with title, with VERY old repaint, and surface checking all over sheet metal. This bike has a wonderful patina, and runs very strong. Motor rebuilt under stringent guidelines. Transmission shifts as new Motorcycle operates wonderfully, and frame as straight as an arrow.
Late 49 frame with flattened down tubes and rectangular horn mounts as was in constant production by serial # 10,000. Narrow style spring fork bracket with TC-20TF forging number 19, exclusive to 1949. VIN is crystal clear, line bore numbers match. VIN matches title. The history of this bike as I know it, includes first sold out of service at a police auction in the early seventies. The bike has had two owners since then, and is once again being offered for sale. The bike was one of less than 480 spring fork Panheads, so without question, an extremely rare survivor. Bike has been authenticated by top AMCA members, and is a date coded (May, 1949) 4 speed transmission. There is evidence of fender repair where siren was once mounted on rear panel. The bike is a dream to ride, and is without any argument at all, the rarest of all the Panhead production models. Reserve is fair and honest. Harley Recalls 25,000 2014 Touring Models
Wed, 16 Oct 2013Harley-Davidson is acting quickly to address potential safety issues by voluntarily recalling certain 2014 Touring motorcycles equipped with a hydraulic clutch system that may pose a safety issue for riders and/or passengers. The recalls include a Do Not Ride notice to owners and a Do Not Deliver notice to Harley-Davidson dealers until the motorcycle is fixed. “The safety of our customers is our highest priority,” said Tony Wilcox, Harley-Davidson General Manager of Motorcycle New Product Delivery.
Mopar to Sponsor Canadian Superbike Championship
Mon, 12 Dec 2011Chrysler’s parts and accessories brand Mopar has signed on to be the title sponsor for the 2012 Canadian Superbike Championship. Mopar replaces Parts Canada which recently ended a 22-year partnership with CSBK over controversial comments made by the series organizer on an Internet forum. The seven-round CSBK series includes separate pro and amateur Superbike and Sportbike classes, as well as a Harley-Davidson XR1200 Cup and a new spec series for young riders featuring the Honda CBR250R.
