ACCORDING TO RECORDS THERE WERE ONLY 63 FLH BIKES PRODUCED IN LATE 1955 THIS MOTOR IS VERY COMPLETE ( missing carb & generator ) AND WAS RUNNING WHEN REMOVED ! MOTOR HAS MATCHING CASES AND UNMOLESTED VIN # / CORRECT TIMING COVER , OIL PUMP & HEADS / DISTRIBUTOR IS AN UPDATED AUTO ADVANCE TYPE & S&S INTAKE MANIFOLD / REAR HEAD EXHAUST PORT NEEDS REPAIR & FRONT HEAD HAS A SMALL CHIP ON FIN AT PLUG SIDE / THE BOLT HOLES FOR GENERATOR MOUNTING HAVE BEEN ENLARGED TO USE LATER 2 BRUSH GENERATORS / ENGINE CASES ARE GOOD ! Well, you might not have done that, I know I haven't, but one man who did was Steve Hopkins who built this bike using 7 Harley-Davidson engines some which date back over 100 years. To prove it rides, Hopkins and nine passengers hopped on the bike on Saturday to start the 900 mile ride from Wisconsin to Sturgis.
