AMA Ice Racing Grand Championship Adds Ice Moto Competition

If you’ve been paying attention around here, you’ll know that we love ice racing here on Motorcycle.com. Editors Troy Siahaan and Tom Roderick got a first-hand taste of ice racing last winter, and we got a real kick out of seeing racers Brad Baker, Jared Mees and Nichole Mees taking Harley-Davidson Street 750s onto ice during the Winter X Games. Harley-Davidson Reports Q3 2011 Results

As expected, Harley-Davidson reported a net income of $183.6 million over the third quarter ended Sept. 25, 2011, a 106% increase from the $88.8 million reported in the same quarter of 2010. Harley-Davidson reported sales revenue of $1.23 billion, a 13.4% increase from the $1.09 billion reported in the same quarter of 2010.

Harley Declares Women Riders Month

Back in July of ’08 Motorcycle.com announced that The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum and Nationwide Insurance were working together to mark July as Women’s Motorcycle Month in order to honor the contribution made to history by female riders. This May, Harley-Davidson is staging a series of events in order to celebrate women on two wheels by declaring May, “Women Riders Month.” Some of the Harley-Davidson Women Riders Month initiatives will include special rides in New York City and Milwaukee as well as an attempt to grace the pages of the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest number of women motorcycle riders trained in one weekend. Harley-Davidson dealerships will also be hosting women-only Garage Parties, which consist of informal meetings in an unintimidating environment where women can learn about motorcycling.
