Harley-Davidson Other description

1981 Harley Davidson shovelhead

Clean title, runs good, shifts and stops good.
Started life as a lowrider fxs and has been customized.

80 inch motor
Compufire ignition and new coil
Super E carb
Custom narrowed fat bobs or I have a set of regular fat bobs that can come with it.
Custom cobra seat and fender struts
Fatboy front end and wheels
Rear tire is new.
Belt primary and new clutch
Performance machine rear brakes and foot controls.

It runs good, starts in 2 kicks. Could use a little tuning on the carb but I've been riding it as is.
Has electric start but needs a solenoid. Kickstarts easily so I didn't bother fixing it.

Located in Detroit MI
Will ship anywhere.

Will consider trades for something interesting, other bikes, vehicles.

Feeling trapped within the crippling grasp of winter? The Harley-Davidson Museum is helping to warm things up with Winter Chillabration, running now until the end of February. One of the many highlights is the giant XR1200 Harley-Davidson Sportster that has been hand-carved from ice and snow by the USA Snow Sculpting Team, on the corner of 5th and Canal Streets.

Harley-Davidson and an American Hero

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

As motorcyclists, we’re drawn to the freedom two wheels represent; just man, machine and the open road. The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. The WLD Special Sport Solo was a ringer in its day.
