1984 Harley-Davidson FXRDG. This is a very rare bike. There was only 1 made for each dealer in 1984. Approx. 700 to 800. Exact number is hard to verify. This is a 1984 and 1/2. First EVO, last chain drive, first laser painted tank, first stock solid aluminum rear wheel, first rubber mounted engine, first attempt at a Dyna Glide. I have heard it called a Disc Glide also and haven't been able to verify. I am the original owner and bought this bike in Texas in 1984. I have all the original paperwork. I have found the value of this bike to increase each year. Hard to put an exact value on it but if you are a collector I think it would be a great addition. My wife and I ride very little anymore and fixing to hit the road in an RV. Would be willing to look at reasonable offers. In 2009 I had the frame powder coated and cleaned and polished each part of bike. I have the original signal lights, foot pegs and other items. The bike is 95% original. Harley-Davidson Adds Twin Cam 96 and 103 Engines to Factory Remanufacturing Program
Tue, 17 Jan 2012Harley-Davidson has added the Twin Cam 96, Twin Cam 103 and 2003-2006 CVO Twin Cam 103 engines to its engine remanufacturing program. The program, which previously accepted 1984 and newer Evolution 1340, Twin Cam 88, Twin Cam 88B and Twin Cam 95 powerplants, takes used engines, rebuilds and repaints them. Customers can take their existing Harley-Davidson motorcycle to a dealer which will remove the engine and send it back to the factory.
