Harley-Davidson Other description

You are buying a collectable, rare, traditional American chopper by Rouserworks, Haifley Bros. and Flyright.  100% made in USA using only the best quality American made parts, with a modern, easy to start (electric only), easy to maintain, powerful stock Buell Thunderbolt 1200cc engine.  ( USA except UK Avon tires and vintage Spanish Akront aluminum 21" x 3" front rim).

Bike is long, low, light, quick and beautiful.  Stance is perfect. Stripped of all non-essentials, the look is clean.  Handles true and steady at speed.  Long wheelbase, no front brake and no turn signals make this an open road bike, not a city bike or a bar hopper unless a front brake is added.

Fit. I'm 6'2" and ride with the handlebars turned down (board track style).  Inches can be gained by adjusting the handlebars up parallel to tank.  It's a long bike so under 5'8" may require a different handlebars.

Titled (Arizona) as a 2000 Buell (not special construction).  I may change to Colorado prior to sale.

Built in 2007 at Rouserworks, Corpus Christie, TX. using a stock 2000 Buell Thunderbolt 1200cc engine, in a 2007 Flyrite Smokin Gun rigid frame (with Serial No. and Manufacturer's Statement of Origin included with sale).

In 2013-2014 bike underwent a $6,500 frame off refurbishing at Haifley Bros., Phoenix, AZ.  Bike was completely disassembled, frame powder coated, sheet metal painted, one-off handlebars, etc. fully detailed in description and photos.

ENGINE:  2000 Buell Thunderbolt 1200cc (stock bore, stroke and compression).  Electric start only. Oil Cooler.  Compression is strong.  No mechanical issues (sweats a little). Carb is jetted for 7,000 ft elevation so may need adjustment.
FRAME:   2007 Flyrite Choppers Smokin Gun rigid with Serial No. & Manufacture's Statement of Origin included in sale.
FORKS:   H-D 39mm shortened.
EXHAUST:  2-into-1, one off by Haifley Bros. No muffler. Not loud.  The balanced 2-into-1 performs better than unbalanced 2-into-2, weighs less and looks better.  Heat shield is one-off Haifley Bros.
FRONT WHEEL & TIRE:  Vintage Akront alloy 21 x 1.85 - 40/TR1287 with polished s/s spokes to vintage chromed spool hub.  Fresh Avon Speedmaster MK II 3.00 x 21 tire and tube. Rim has oxidation but no dents or pitting.
REAR WHEEL & TIRE:  Rare 1983 H-D Par No. 41057-83, 16" x 3.00" solid wheel.  Made in USA (the original not to be confused with later foreign made H-D wheels).  Media blasted.  Wheel is not modified and will accept stock H-D disc brake.  Note the Haifley Bros. brass hub cap over brake mount.  Fresh Avon Speedmaster MK II 5.00 x 16 and tube.  Rim not modified so will accept disc brake assembly.
OIL TANK:  Moon alloy.
GAS TANK:  Detroit Bros or Lowbrow Custom Wassel style 2 gallon.  Re-tunneled by Haifley Bros to sit low on frame and parallel to top of engine.
REAR FENDER: Gasbox Spun Steel 16". Shaved by Haifley Bros. Fits tight to wheel with perfectly even radius.
TAILLIGHT: Fab Kevin.
HANDLEBARS: One-off by Haifley Bros. Brass risers by Paughco.
CLUTCH LEVER: Kustomteck DeLuxe brass and alloy.
SEAT: Haifley Bros. black leather and chrome pleated Bates style (the best on the market). Springs OEM H-D
THROTTLE: Biltwell.
BATTERY: Ballistic
PAINT: By Haifley Bros. in single stage oil base enamel. H-D Birch White. No Clear coat. Pinstripes free hand. (decals can be added and clear coated).
BRAKES:  NONE to front. Rear sprocket brake (unmarked Flyrite or Exile).  A sprocket brake is close to an old drum brake - it slows the bike but will not stop fast.  For an experienced rider who knows how use combined brake and gearbox/downshifting.   A front disc brake could and should be added be added for urban use.
GAUGES: None.  Guess a speedo wouldn't hurt (except, when the officer asks "do you know how fast you were going? " Your can truthfully say "no".) Never saw the use of a tach on a road-going H-D.
FOOTPEGS:  Cast brass by Backes, Iowa.

You could not build this bike for the price.  This is a collectible, traditional chopper that will not go out of style long after the ground pounders are scrapped for the newest fad. Rouserworks  - Rob Galan (Google "Rouserworks").  The Haifley Bros. are up and coming builders who do top quality work.  I'll be 66 this October and the old bones don't ride much.

Please study the photos. Ask as many questions as you like.  Bike is in Four Corners, Colorado. Sold as-is where is (although delivery may be possible between South-West CO and California, for a fee). Thank you for looking

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

“Built for Speed – Race Inspired Motorcycles and Art” is the title of Michael Lichter’s 14th annual “Motorcycles as Art” exhibition in Sturgis this August, which for the second year in a row, will be jointly curated by Michael and Paul d’Orleans of the Vintagent. ‘Built for Speed’ is sure to impress visitors with a beautiful and thought-provoking display of motorcycles and related art, the race-inspired theme making connections between motorcycle racing and custom bike designs inspired by racers. Each custom bike in ‘Built for Speed’ reflects a branch of racing; Speedway, Flat Track, Drag Racing, Board Track,  Grand Prix, Land Speed Record, and will be displayed beside the racing machines suggesting the origins of each style.

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!

Mon, 17 Nov 2008

A couple of weeks ago I suggested that if you haven’t attended a flat track, aka dirt track, race, you’re missing some of the best racing in the motorcycle world. That still holds true, but I’ve got another form you’re probably not seeing. Drag racing!

A (Not So) Silent Night from Harley-Davidson – Video

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

It’s probably not conducive for sleeping in heavenly peace, but Harley-Davidson has released a Christmas-themed ad with the song “Silent Night” performed by the revving V-Twin engine of a Softail Breakout. Titled “The Sound of the Festive Season”, the ad spot was produced by U.K agency Big Communications for Harley-Davidson Europe Middle East and Africa. According to AdWeek, the ad was conceived, sold and produced in just 72 hours.
