Absolutely beautiful Harley Road King. Stunning deep, rich metallic black paint, with orange flames and pin striping, and metallic silver stripes. Paint is applied over Native custom baggers front fender, rear fender and fillers. Fender fillers have LED turn and brake signals flush mounted. Six gallon Russ Wernimont tank with flush mount filler and gauge. Bags are stock Harley with Black & orange diamond weave crushed velour liners. Wheels are Performance Machine Roulette 21" front 17" rear with matching rotors and belt drive. Front wheel is a single rotor with a Performance Machine 4 piston billet caliper. Mounted on Hog Pro smooth lower sliders with hidden axel kit. Front of bike is very smooth and slick. Front end has a Tradewinds billet trim ring on the nacelle. The nacelle also has diagonally mounted turn signals. The controls are 1.5" Carlini mini apes. All controls are chrome including the slim mirrors. Grips, floor boards and fender trim and bag latches are all Harley Skull collection. Tach and speedo are both Harley machine silver face. Engine has received the full Screaming Eagle treatment including pistons, heads, cams and carb. Engine is fully chromed. Exhaust is a V & H 2 into 1. Bike sounds aggressive and throaty without being obnoxiously loud. Engine dyno'd at 113hp. Engine is mated to a stock Harley 5 speed with chrome treatment. Engine features Jim Nasi hidden fastener dirby cover and trans cover making for a really smooth appearance.

Donation of Photos and Memorabilia to Harley-Davidson Museum Reveal Glimpse of Early Days at Harley

Harley-Davidson Museum today posted on its Facebook page a selection of photos it received as part of collection of images and memorabilia donated by a former Harley employee. According to the Facebook post former H-D employee Bob Jameson donated “ two scrapbooks, numerous photographs, news clippings and other company related materials” for the museum’s collection. Jameson, following in his father’s footsteps, worked for The Motor Company, and in 1960 helped develop a motorcycle suited for use in the Vietnam war.

US Motorcycle Sales First Half 2011 Results

The U.S. motorcycle industry saw a 4.6% decrease in year-on-year sales over the first six months of 2011, thanks mostly to a 17.3% drop in ATV sales. Motorcycle and scooter sales however saw a 1.7% bump in the first half .

Harley-Davidson will introduce a new 1200cc Sportster model  released by the California Air Resources Board. The new 2012 Harley-Davidson Seventy-Two is expected to be announced at the company’s winter dealer meeting next month, and it may not be alone. Newly released documents from the CARB reveal the Harley-Davidson Seventy-Two among the company’s 1200cc Sportster offerings alongside the Forty-Eight, 1200 Custom and Nightster.
