MSF Begins Year-long Real World Motorcycle Safety Study

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation has started what it calls the first-ever naturalistic study of motorcycling, with 100 motorcycles equipped with data logging equipment to record real-world riding situations over the course of a year. Harley-Davidson Recalls Over 100,000 Touring Models, 1400 Street Models

Harley-Davidson has recalled more than 105,000 Touring models from the 2014 model year, and approximately 1400 Street models from the 2015 model year. The Touring models have been recalled due to a possible failure of a component in the clutch master cylinder. This possible failure could cause a reduction in pressure available to keep the clutch disengaged, according to the NHTSA.

Zero Motorcycles Named to Made in USA Foundation Hall of Fame

The Made in the USA Foundation has named Zero Motorcycles to its 2012 Hall of Fame class, recognizing the electric motorcycle manufacturer’s commitment to American manufacturing. Zero Motorcycles, founded in 2006 in Santa Cruz, Calif., by former NASA engineer Neal Saiki, becomes the second motorcycle manufacturer named to the Foundation’s Hall of Fame. Harley-Davidson was inducted in 2011.
