Saddle up on the new Fat Bob and watch the world quickly take its place over the flat internally-wired handlebar on black risers. Stand alongside and your eyes go right to the tommy-gun exhaust shield on the custom pipes. Like every bike in the family, the design centers on the power and glory of a vibration-isolated Twin Cam 96 engine. It’s finished in black, with polished covers. US Motorcycle Sales First Half 2011 Results
Thu, 28 Jul 2011The U.S. motorcycle industry saw a 4.6% decrease in year-on-year sales over the first six months of 2011, thanks mostly to a 17.3% drop in ATV sales. Motorcycle and scooter sales however saw a 1.7% bump in the first half .
2015 Harley-Davidson Freewheeler Revealed
Tue, 26 Aug 2014It’s no surprise, as we’ve already seen the spy photos and California Air Resources Board documents, but Harley-Davidson has officially introduced its new Freewheeler trike, adding a second three-wheeled model to go with the Tri Glide Ultra Classic. Whereas the Tri Glide is designed for touring needs, the Freewheeler is more of a cruiser with 12-inch mini-ape-hanger handlebars and bobtail fenders. Up front is a seven-piece nacelle with a dual halogen lamp mounted tight to the 49mm telescopic fork and frame.
Harley-Davidson Hires ex-GM Engineer Federico
Thu, 08 May 2014Harley-Davidson has hired a former General Motors engineer and executive, most recently recognized for leading the automaker’s internal investigation of its ignition switch fiasco that resulted in a recall of 2.6 million vehicles. Jim Federico retired from GM on May 5 after working in various roles with the company over nearly four decades, most recently as executive director of global vehicle integration. Federico will join Harley-Davidson on June 2 as vice president of engineering.
