Harley-Davidson Softail description

This Fatboy has been well maintained and used minimally.  1,450 CC Twin Cam 88 CI has always been garaged, covered, and stored in a heated helicopter hanger in the wintertime.

I purchased it used in 2001 with a few hundred miles on it and it has never required anything other than oil, filter, plus, brakes & tires.

I just had it in for service (May 2016) and it has brand synthetic oil, filter, & two brand new tires (Metzler 880 Marathon 140 R and 130 F).  It was $700 for last month's service.

The Paint Scheme is phenomenal !!!  Hand Painted at the Harley Davidson Factory were a limited number of 200 "DEVIL TAILS" flame paint schemes that were created.  They are numbered and this set is number 10 of 200.

Black, Blue & White are the colors and this was the creation of the HD Skull logo that you now see on all the derby covers, timing covers, floor boards, brake pedal, shifter pegs, handle bar grips, axle nut covers, shifter linkage rod, gas cap, mirrors, valve stem caps, sprocket cover, etc.  I do NOT have all those upgrades on the bike, but they certainly are available.

The bike was originally white and the paint scheme was added in 2004/2005 at a cost of $4,000.

Since this limited paint scheme was only available for a Fatboy, HD also offered a limited number of matching Chrome Devil Tails Solid Fatboy Wheels at a cost of $1,600.

The Skull Logo upgrades that do come with the bike are as follows:

Front and rear Chrome Wheels, rear sprocket cover, rear brake pedal, gas cap, shifter linkage rod, and valve stem caps.  The Debry cover & timing cover were replaced with original HD Chome covers.

Addtional add ons:

Intake & Exhaust: Vance & Hines Big Radius Exhaust ($750), Kuryakyn Hypercharger intake with large frontal opening & vacuum-operated butterflies (like a cowl induction hood on a 1970 Chevelle SS) that allow for almost-unrestricted airflow, HD Stage 1 carburetor jet kit.  Upgraded Spark plugs & wires (wires are illuminated).

Chrome Front End:  Full Chrome Fork Sliders, extended highlight ring, Carlini Handle Bars, Buckshot Mirrors, Chrome handlebar switch housing (L&R), braided wires, Billet Grips (Billet grips show their age and could be replaced) Chrome "Spike" Front Axle Covers have chrome plating beginning to peal and in need of replacement. Over a grand into the Chrome Front End.

Partial Chrome Rear End:  Chrome upper and lower Belt cover, Matching Devil Tails Chrome Sprocket Cover, Chrome Real Axle Covers.

Lots of other small Chrome parts/bolts (upgraded license plate holder, chrome brass nuckles rear passenger footpegs, etc.

Harley Davidson "Badlander" leather seat, leather tank panel with storage pouch, low profile blinkers.

I am certain that I have forgotten something but any questions, please feel free to ask.  I've been offered 9K in trade from the local dealer so before I let her go, I am trying to beat that offer.

The paint, wheels, chrome front end, intake, exhaust, Stage 1 upgrade, with HD Certified Installation exceeds 9K.

If you want a real head turner that looks, and sounds, amazing for 10K, this is your bike.

Budding Artist and MDA Ambassador Create Motorcycle Painting to Benefit MDA

Sat, 27 Jul 2013

Reagan Imhoff dreams of a career in art, and the determined 8-year-old and MDA Ambassador won’t let Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type II get in the way of those dreams. Her parents’ New Berlin, WI, home is plastered with hundreds of her drawings, and a painting of hers sold for $5,000 at the MDA Black-N-Blue Ball in May. Local artist and Harley-Davidson designer Mathew Hintz is encouraging her passion.

A Seattle Seahawks-Themed Motorcycle. Why? Because Football. And Charity.

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

With the return of football season upon us (that’s American football for our international readers), we thought it best to feature, what else, but a motorcycle. In this particular case, it’s a Seattle Seahawks-themed custom based on a 2005 Harley-Davidson Road King, the same year the Hawks made it to the Super Bowl. The man behind the custom, award-winning bike builder and Seattle resident, Keith Wong, was approached by Patrick ‘PT’ Town, the founder and executive director of Union Ride & Charity Rally - a charity event to raise money for several non-profits including Northwest Harvest, A.N.E.W., Helmets to Hardhats and the Awareness, Education and Prevention of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in Youth Football.
