Harley-Davidson Sportster description

This is my 1959 Harley Davidson XLH Sportster hardtail Bobber.

Front end is pre war Harley Davidson springer shorten 2 inches with  second set of chevron added. I using a 21 inch front wheel laced to a stock Sportster front brake drum to help slow it down. To that a new AVON Speedmaster tire to keep you stuck. Outback stock Sportster brake hub laced to a Harley 16 wheel clad in a vintage GOODYEAR HD, new wheel bearings front and back as well a new rear axle and  Dragmaster O ring chain. Genuine Corbin Gentry Leather skirted solo seat using stock sportster plunger style seat springs this helps soften the  rigid frame ride.

After 4 different tanks I found this Cole Foster fuel tank on Ebay, and after moving the mounts to work with custom frame all I could say was wow.. Cole your the man! the kicker pedal was scored from INFERNAL COMBUSTION DESIGNS, Chris had a bunch of cool kicker pedals  I went with the BIG KAHUNA  cuz it is the coolest. The rear fender was just as hard, 3 tries till I found this ribbed and flipped beauty from Lowbrow Customs, this fender is real steel not some flimsy Asian POS I fabbed up the rear fender struts using stainless bullet bungs from BUNG KING and 3/8inch stainless bar stock. The tins were painted with fuel proof Rat Rod satin black paint from Eastwood, a set of repro 1959 tank badges keep everything low key. Frame is old school black enamel. Custom high capacity alloy oil bag is mounted low on the left and the battery high behind rear cylinder, I did this to reduce the center mass and make bike look smaller.

Motor/Transmission was rebuilt from top to bottom by the pros at Highway Choppers in Phoenix AZ everything showing ANY wear has been replaced including .10 over piston, new valves, guides, lifters and push rods. 6 volt Generator has been updated to an 12 volt alternator with an electronic regulator. Mikuni carb jetted for 900 Sportster replaces the Linkert which along with a new auto advance circuit breaker helps make this KICK ONLY easy to start, narrowed 3 inch rise handlebars were set up with internal throttle and original levers. The oil pressure light is a repurposed horn button and purple glass jewel lamp inclosing a red LED. Motor has less than 3 miles on it so proper care must be taken for first 500-1000 miles. Motor sounds amazing and she rides and shifts flawlessly, I'm sure once properly broken-in she'll haul ass! There's a lot more cool stuff I could tell you about this build, but that would be bragging...

Bike is sold AS-IS so please feel free to ask any questions. I am only selling bike due to health issues

You could not build this bike for my asking price of $11,500.usd or best offer

Watch As Motorcyclist Gets Chased By Elk – Video

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

Apparently, elks aren’t too keen on motorcyclists, as the video below demonstrates. This couple, aboard what sounds like a Harley-Davidson (that potato-potato exhaust note is unmistakeable), were riding along in Missoula, Montana when this elk decided he wanted to take the road for himself. As traffic slowed and eventually passed, the elk took a growing interest in the couple on the motorcycle, approaching them.
