This is an very nice original paint unrestored 1968 Harley Davidson XLH Sportster electric start motorcycle. I brought this XLH a little over a year ago, I have ridden it regularly, but now need to sell it to make room for another bike coming in. These electric start Sportster's are very hard to find in original condition as only about 1650 were made in 1968 and as you can see it is in very good condition with original parts and paint, except for the front fender which was at sometime in the distant past re-paint due to some ding and the paint is not as good as the tank and rear fender, the milage is I am pretty sure original, their is a ding at the bottom of the rear fender, the tank is in beautiful condition the paint is bright and deep and really shows well. It runs very well with no smoke or leaks, the transmission shifts with the familiar Sportster feel and goes through all gears exactly as it should, it starts easily and runs great, although like all Sportsters a little cold blooded and need to warmed up to proper running temperature for it to perform as it should this can take a mile or three. All the electrics are in full working condition, including all lights, horn, charging system etc. These rare XLH Sportster's have a nice bit of torque and go very well, and it will go as fast as you could possibly want to go on an old machine. This particular bike is very nice to ride very smooth and enjoyable vintage machine that is good for long and short distance rides, I have done all day rides on this bike with no issues, it's large brakes are quite good for the period but obviously not nearly as good as modern breaks, the tires are new with about a 1000 miles on them, as you can see, i still have the original tires period tires also that will go with the bike along with bags and rack, the bottom photo is the day I brought it, with the bags on, they bolt up to all the existing hardware on the bike, the alloy rims are still bright the spokes are very nice, the rest of the chrome on this bike is still very good and well above average for age. The exhaust and mufflers look good but as seen dull. I have not detailed or really cleaned this motorcycle it is as i found it it could be a lot brighter with a proper detailing i just wiped it down with a soft cloth thats all i have done, still has original keys with the original dealer keyring from Indiana dealer, Indiana is where it spent most of it's life  . Overall this bike has a very nice original patina and in my opinion is just how you would want to find an old original motorcycle which runs and rides great.
