Harley-Davidson Sportster description

I am selling my 1977 Harley Davidson Sportster.  As you can tell from the pics the bike has gone through some major modifications and looks nothing as it once did.

The rear of the bike had the original frame cut off and a rigid/hardtail conversion installed. The front has a springer front suspension.  A 3.3 gallon gas tank and a new Le Pera Solo seat with new springs added on. Forward controls along with drag handle bars, Harley chrome handgrips and shorty peep mirror complete the MEAN old school look. For better stopping a front disc brake conversion was installed.   Take a look at the pics this bike sits and has an aggressive stance to it.  People always gather to it no matter where I go.

The engine is a 1000cc Ironhead and has an S&S Super E carb, Yost Power tube, S&S Intake and S&S air Cleaner to match. A set of drag pipes with the "lollipop" mod done to them for back pressure makes this bike loud and sound good.

This is the Classic definition of a Bobbber...... Great motorcycles in their most basic form.    There are no turn signals or horns on this.  It does have a headlight, taillight, brake light and licensce plate lights.

I recently had the carb gaskets changed and rejetted along with the ignition gone through and a new tune put in the rear tire.    The bike starts everytime, runs strong, shifts fine and stops as it should. It will be needing brake pads in the near future.  The tires are in decent shape and have about half tread life left on them.  The front tire is showing its age and starting to show some slight cracking.

This bike was built to look mean, turn heads and be an attention getter.  It does just that!    The chrome and paint are 39 years old and looks as such....I never polished or cleaned up the bike because it added to the nostalgic rat rod type look I was going for.

The bike is for sale to serious buyers,   NO SHIPPING   Local pickup ONLY   I can help deliver up to 100 miles for an added cost.

Please take a look at my pics!! ZOOM IN!! pay attention    I list my items accurately as possible.  I have 100% feedback and What you see is What you get.

Contact me if you would like to see the bike in person.    I am located very close to Interstate 81

Bobby Petrino’s Harley-Davidson Available for Auction – Comes With Baggage

Wed, 09 May 2012

A 2007 Harley-Davidson Road King Classic reportedly belonging to former University of Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino is up for auction. Listed as salvage title, the Harley-Davidson is painted in the school’s colors and features a razorback boar – Arkansas’ mascot – painted on the fuel tank with the words “Hawg Wild”. Sports blog ArkansasaSports360.com reported it can confirm the bike was the one Petrino crashed April 1.
