Harley-Davidson Sportster description
Very nice looking 1979 Harley-Davidson Sportster bike built from various parts and years as a street tracker to resemble a dirt track racer.
This was a project bike built in Florida for a series of do-it-yourself articles in American Iron Garage all-tech magazine a couple of years ago. The bike was running fine when parked in storage more than a year ago, but has not been strarted in a while. The brand new tires obviously need to be aired up, the oil should be changed and the battery might need to be replaced. Note the high performance Progressive Suspension rear suspension. The front brake fluid needs to be topped off and bled before riding it. Dual drilled disc brakes up front single disc in the rear. The bike is in storage at the American Iron Magazine offices in Stamford, CT. The bike has a clean Florida title. I would not consider it a cafe racer style, more like a street tracker with the XR750 style solo saddle. You can't buy the parts and built it yourself for less! |
