Up for sale is my 1999 Harley Davidson Sportster. It has been completely redone from the frame up!! Frame, Wheels, Light, Bars, Grips, Fork Legs, Triple Trees, all disassembled and powdercoated in satin black. The rear section including seat, Rear fender and struts, and wheel were all done to accomadate the large 23" 40 spoke wheel that is identical to the front. Avon 130s wrap the wheels in the front and rear. All bodywork was then stripped painted and hand striped to give it a vintage tracker feel. Built this thing to show what I can do to a stock sportster platform. Finished it and it needs to be seen rolling thru the streets! This bike has the good looks of a custom and the reliability of a stock Sportster. Only mods to engine are a custom made exhaust and altered air cleaner. This thing is a rider! Vespa goes back to the future
Thu, 22 Nov 2012IT'S been a while coming, but the gorgeous Vespa 946 - EICMA 2012's Best of Show - has finally introduced something to the two-wheeled world that our four-wheeled counterparts have had for a while. I call this 'reverse retro-futurism' - the art of borrowing lines from models past and imbuing them with a sleek sense of future direction (as opposed to retro-futurism, the pre-1960s design trend of depicting the technology of the future. The term 'decopunk' may come close, but feel free to tell me if there's a more exact term.) It's what the New Mini and the New Beetle (both 1997 and 2012 versions) have done so well, and so successfully: building an all-new model as a tribute to a classic, something that's modern yet already timeless, with a widely-appreciated, inclusive aesthetic (and here we eliminate the Plymouth PT Cruiser from the conversation). The biking world is great at retro, indeed thrives on it, but not so good at adding in a taste of the 21st century.
Music and Motorcycles Exhibit
Wed, 04 Mar 2009The four-day “Music and Motorcycles” exhibit, presented by the Long Island Music Hall of Fame (LIMHOF), will be on public display at the Lighthouse Harley-Davidson dealership in Huntington Station, NY. The exhibit will feature memorabilia and motorcycles from many inductees from the LIMHOF including, Joan Jett, Billy Joel, Dee Snider, The Ramones, Darryl McDaniel of Run DMC and more. Billy Joel will be supplying several custom bikes, Twisted Sister have agreed to loan one of their motorcycles and a gas tank signed by Jett, Snider, Peter Tork of The Monkees, Gary U.S.
