PLEASE READ ENTIRE AUCTION DESCRIPTION PRIOR TO BIDDING You are considering a 1978 APST Florida titled Shovelhead Harley Davidson.,,, A BEAUTIFUL CLASSIC RIDE It has been titled as a special construction somewhere in it's past- but make no mistake- it is all Harley Davidson. I do not know the mileage but it does not smoke at all when started- and runs strong-the mileage reads 1,629. The motor does not leak The bike receives the compliments wherever I ride. THE TITLE IS CLEAN. The bike runs with great compression- no leaks that I can see- drives -shifts well. It has bright shiny chrome with some minimal chrome wheel surface rust. All lights work including high low beams- running lights- rare factory stock light bumper set up. 4 speed tranny- Please note-Currently rear brake only- kick start. The front hand brake assembly is on the bike = just not connected. As Pete wrote in our own review, the Harley-Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight has a rugged, bobber-inspired look with its chopped fender, chubby front tire and underslung mirrors. For the guys over at Cycle Canada, the Forty-Eight conjured up a rather odd image: roller derby.
Harley-Davidson Reports Q2 2013 Results
Thu, 25 Jul 2013Harley-Davidson reported a net profit of $271.7 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2013, up from the profit of $247.3 million reported in the same period in 2012. For the first half of 2013, Harley-Davidson has recorded $495.9 million in profit, compared to $419.3 million reported in the opening six months last year. “Harley-Davidson again drove strong financial performance in the second quarter, reflecting the many improvements in operations we have made throughout the Company over the past few years as well as our brand strength globally,” says Keith Wandell, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Harley-Davidson, Inc.
