Harley-Davidson Touring description

This is a 1999 Ultra touring bike. It has had the engine rebuilt to stock 88 inch. The reason for rebuild was broken piston on back cyl. It has new camshafts, stock, new chain tensioner shoes. Also new lifters and it has adjustable push rods. The quick change type. Rather than rebuild heads I bought a complete set that had less than 1000 miles from new. The transmission clicks through the gears great. The tires are new, new bake pads on rear. Wheel bearings and seals replaced on rear. Front wheel bearings were inspected, repacked and new seal installed. New clutch cable, rebuilt injectors installed. Clutch is perfect. It has a quick change docking bracket on rear for trunk. No trunk. Also new oil pump was installed. The bike starts, runs and drives real nice. One of the new lifters for some reason will click sometimes and sometimes not. I adjusted the tubes at three turns and have been told they should have had four turns. At any rate there is a new set of lifters will go with it. I done all the repair work on this bike myself but I have ALS and I have reached the point that changing or even adjusting the lifters is too much for me. I bought the bike with the bad engine for something to keep me busy in the shop and it has done that. Now it is time for someone to ride it. There will be no reserve. Thank you for looking. 8-29-13 A couple of things I failed to mention. The seat has a seam that come apart and has a piece of tape over it. The seat is nice and comfortable otherwise. Also the bike has a new battery and it also has a Power Commander 2 that was in there when I bought the bike.

Local artist and Harley-Davidson designer Mathew Hintz is encouraging her passion.

Yokoyama survived the disaster but lost three family members and is still living in temporary accommodations.

Fri, 04 Oct 2013

On January 9, 2014, during the fourth annual Las Vegas Sale of motorcycles at Bally’s Hotel and Casino, Bonhams, the world’s largest auction house for cars, motorcycles and memorabilia, will be auctioning off over 50 motorcycles from the extensive Wayne Pierce family museum collection, all offered at no reserve. Among the machines is a first-year Harley-Davidson Sportster believed to be the 10th XL883 produced in 1957, a 1933 Harley VLE police bike that saw actual duty on the streets of Chicago before being cast in the 1987 Kevin Costner gangster movie, “The Untouchables,” and an authentic and unrestored 1947 Harley Knucklehead wearing period aftermarket accessories. Wayne “Pappy” Pierce started his Harley-Davidson dealership in 1957, run out of a one-room tin shed in DeKalb, Illinois.
