Harley-Davidson Touring description

My garage overfloweth!! I'm thinning my herd and I gotta tell ya, letting this bad boy go reeeeeealy hurts! I bought this 2001 Road King about 2 years ago from a friend in need figuring I'd just sell it and try to break even. Well, after detailing it silly and riding it a bit, I fell in love with the bike. I began upgrading her as if she was a keep forever bike but after the GF hurt her back and was more comfortable on an Ultra, I regretfully have to part with her. When the cam chain tensioner was due for an upgrade, I kinda went nuts and upgraded to a gear drive, adjustable push rods, 211 cams, hi performance oil pump, and recently had the heads refreshed. Amazing what the head refresh did. Its a rocket of an 88 now! In addition to the engine upgrades performed in the last year, I added brand new Metzelers front and rear, new brakes and rotors front and rear, new front brake lines, and new light smoke windshield. Chrome is beautiful and in just the right amount. Smoke signal lenses, Harley V Logo windshield bag, clock, 2 point quick release docking hardware, and one ass kicking skull horn cover. The skull engine picture in the ad made the Skull Man on Line catalog. I am partial to that $145 skull so if you want it to stay with the bike, make me a decent offer. This bike needs nothing. Motor is rock solid and shows like a new bike, even with 60K on the odometer. You can eat off of all of my bikes. I love motorcycles and care for them like I will keep them forever so you are getting a babbied ride here. This bike always turns heads so you get a lot of bang for your buck here. Way too much invested but its what I do and I am not asking a premium for all of the upgrades. This is one solid and beautiful bike. It's as clean as you can find. $7,500 OBO. Gimme a call or text me. God Bless!

Motorcycles at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show

Mon, 28 Sep 2009

Two weeks ago, I took a break from my regular duties gathering news for Motorcycle.com to fly to Germany to cover the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show for our sister site AutoGuide.com. For two hectic days, AutoGuide editor Colum Wood and I scrambled across the massive 6.2 million square foot Messe Frankfurt trade fair compound, running from press conference to press conference to get the latest on exotic sport cars, futuristic concept models and international unveilings from the automotive world. It was heaven for car lovers, but for me, it meant fighting my way through hordes of photogs, auto-journalists and car show models to get the first photos of four-wheeled goodies from MINI, Ferrari and Lotus.

Motorcycle Ride for Diabetes

Fri, 23 Jan 2009

Photograph by: Roy Antal, Leader-Post By and large, motorcyclists are some of the most generous citizens in the world. Riding events all over the world bring in untold millions of dollars for numerous worthy charities. Keeping with this theme, one hardy Canadian rider is braving the Great White North’s frigid winter temperatures by riding his Harley coast to coast to raise awareness for diabetes, a disease that has seen a rapid explosion of new afflictions.
