Harley-Davidson Touring description

Very low mileage Anniversary Edition Full Tourer.

I have owned the bike since new / I am the the original owner.  It has low mileage because I bought it for pleasure and my wife won't come on the bike.

I bought it new from 'Mikes Famous' Harley Davidson in Delaware in September 2003. When I moved to Florida in 2005 I had to re-register the bike in Florida.

Cylinders just had new gaskets and rings installed (13th October) also had the cyclinders honed along with new battery installed.  I had not used the bike for a while and the battery went flat/died and a gasket seemed to have dried out because it leaked when ridden for a few miles.  While it was in the repair shop I got them to install a brand new front fender which I bought years ago and stored in box ( 'just in case' it became hard to get the anniversary edition painted parts).

This is an FLHTCI Electra Glide Classic not FLHTCUI Electra Glide Ultra Classic.  The Classic offered the lower leg fairings as an optional extra while the Ultra included the lower leg fairings. I did not like the way they looked on the bike so I never purchased the lower fairings (ie: lower fairings are not included in sale - I never had them).

Front forks are powder coated metalic which saves a lot of polishing and they look great.

Linde 'highway' roll/crash bars are powder coated black to match bike which makes them low profile and gives the bike a sleek look.  I do not have the original bars, I preferred the Linde with highway footrests built in.

Passenger backrest/rear carrier box are removable and clip off so you can ride the bike without the rear box and speakers if you prefer. The frame holding the passenger backrest and box is also powder coated black so does not rust or need polishing.

This model does not include CB Radio.

There is a small area of damage to the surface of the saddle at the rear edge under where the backrest comes down. When I first bought the bike I lived in New Jersey and stored electric gloves there but forgot to turn them off once and they melted a small hole.  I sealed the hole but did not replace the seat cover because the damage is not visible when when backrest is down / box is closed (see photo showing saddle with box/backrest closed and open.

Slight corrosion on the back of the mirrors where the rain hits them but these are an easy item to swap out if you want to.  Small scratches in a couple of places, including right at the front of gas tank in a location where you can't see it most of the time (it was caused by the end of phone charger touching it on tight turns), There is a small stone chip out of rear fender at very base that I touched up, small scratch through paint on side plate, 1 small scratch that I touched up on edge of saddle bags - nothing big I have tried to show them in the photos.

Included in sale:

* Spare metal protectors for saddlebags - slight rust but in good condition
* Service Manual - new and unused (I preferred paying for service)

Buyer to collect bike.

If buyer is interested I have a trailer in a bag that I would like to sell - you could trailer it home on this if you buy it.

If you want specific pictures or info - let me know.

AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike Riders Gearing Up For Road America

Thu, 29 May 2014

The AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike class makes its much-anticipated return to Road America this weekend. The four-mile Wisconsin circuit is a particularly exciting place to watch the middleweight bikes because its long straights and braking zones make passing and lead changes commonplace. More than just a test of man and machine, the races often develop into a strategic battle leading up to the all-important last lap and run up the hill to the checkered flag.
