Harley-Davidson Touring description

Harley-Davidson Road King Classic.  FLHRC.  I recently had a knee replaced and find that I am not confident is maneuvering this machine.  I have several bikes and this is the most comfortable to ride. I am not a Harley guy buy I fell in love with this bike when I saw it.  It has the looks of a classic bike with the ride of a new one.  The only marks on this are rub marks on the top of the leather side cases where it hits bolts on the fender when opening.  Never been wrecked.  It has fallen over on me but only damaged a side reflector which I replaced.

This bike is pretty much standard so you can customize it as you want.  As you can see in the pictures I have added the rear rack and back rest.  These are genuine parts from the dealer.  I am also including an air pump for the rear suspension and a cover.  I had the bike serviced over the winter and only have driven it about 400 miles since then.  They performed the factory 10,000 mile service.  They also replaced the battery and rear brake caliper.

I am selling this only because it is just sitting in my garage and should be used and appreciated by someone.  Thanks for looking and please write me with any questions.

US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011

Tue, 09 Oct 2012

Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.

ACCEL Stealth Supercoils Now Available For Harley-Davidson Sportsters

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

ACCEL today announced the company’s popular motorcycle Stealth SuperCoils will now be available to owners of 2007-2014 Harley-Davidson Sportsters.  First introduced in late-2013 for Harley-Davidson Twin-Cam engines, ACCEL’s Stealth SuperCoils provide quicker engine starting and improved throttle response, while hiding all ignition wiring in the head of the self-contained coil pack; eliminating the need for spark plug wires and creating a clean, custom look. In addition to the flat black and natural aluminum finishes, the Sportster Stealth SuperCoils are offered in flat black with polished aluminum edges. Each SuperCoil mounts directly to the spark plug and features a cross-functional cast aluminum cover that also acts as a heat sink, pulling heat away from the cylinder heads.

Three-Year-Old Motorcycle Prodigy?

Tue, 18 Aug 2009

Even though Tiger woods started paying golf at age two, this story of a three-year-old boy from New Delhi, India is probably just as impressive, maybe more.  Azeem Khan, photographed on the Royal Enfield Bullet above, has been granted a special license by judges in India allowing him to ride his motorcycle on side roads but is not allowed out on the main roads by himself. Khan’s father had to customize the bike so that the young boy could reach the controls and prove that he could handle the motorcycle on his own. I used to sit him on my bike and he would always grab at the controls.
