Harley-Davidson Touring description

Another Killer Bagger by BR Hotrods!

Once again we went straight to the dealership and started with a showroom fresh
2016 Roadglide Special.
That means we were already toting cruise control, navigation, linked ABS brakes, the big touch screen radio etc.
We rode it back to the shop, strapped it to the lift and went to town!

Right off the bat we installed a Misfit Industries neck (to make room for the killer 30" wheel that was being machined for us), what the Misfit neck does is allow us to get a killer stance as well as a factory like ride while sporting the 30" wheel. This kit (safely) puts the rake and trail exactly where it needs to be, which allows you to rack up mile after mile on the highway or in town.
Be prepared for the nay sayers that crow on and on about how "those bikes can't be ridden", tell them to give us a dollar for every mile thats on the odometer or pipe down..
We have actually put over 2000 miles on this one in just over the three weeks it has been completed just because it rides awesome!

Once the neck was TIG welded and the billet trees were installed, we started mocking up the stretched tank, side covers, bags, and rear fender from the boys at TOL, and as usual they fit like a glove.
We then installed the RWD wrap around front fender to check for any issues, and as usual none were found so it was sanded and coated with several coats of Urethane primer, once all the parts were cured we hand blocked every square inch, even the factory fairing.

While we were getting everything ready for paint, we had the local Harley dealership install an S&S big bore kit that brought the cubes up to 106ci, but more importantly it was done utilizing (boost friendly) forged pistons, while they were in there we added a set of Screamin' Eagle 585 camshafts, adjustable pushrods, and had the cylinders and heads Diamond Cut for a killer look!

Once the engine was back together we installed a fully polished/ ceramic coated, intercooled turbo kit from Trask Industries, it comes complete with all of the components needed for the installation right down to the proper injectors, clutch etc. With the engine mods and the intercooler boost provided by the turbo, we are right at 200hp, and that's power that is daily drivable and doing so on pump gas! The fact that we have put over 2000 miles on it in three weeks can attest to the drivability.
To control this turbocharged powerhouse, we installed a (Thundermax) ECM with wideband O2 sensors and self learn function.

Next to arrive was the custom 30" wheel from (Ryd Wheels), we waited a little over a month for it to be made and chromed but it was well worth it! While installing a larger wheel upfront, the last thing we were gonna do was leave a stock diameter brake rotor on it, so we had them machine a matching 18" brake rotor and installed an HHI six piston caliper to perform the clamping!

Holding that bada$$ wheel and rotor is a set of (Performance Machine) ball milled and chromed lower legs, which house one half of the (instant up) air ride kit from (AirFXUSA).
Moving on up the forks are a set of 10" Chisel handlebars from Harley Davidson, they put your hands at the most ergonomic angle for those long rides, gone are the days of your hands going to sleep!
Attached to the bars are CVO lighted buttons (for night time cruising), and custom HD black and chrome grips.
Speaking of the lighted buttons, they control a killer sound system, we installed a J&M 330 watt amp that pounds away at (just released) 6.71" fairing speakers that include a separate grill mounted tweeter, as nasty as the engine is, this stereo will have you wondering if it is still running!

We didn't want to take away from the flowing lines on this one so the last thing we were going to do was slap some dead alligator looking seat on it, we started with a 2016 CVO seat and had it customized to fit the stretched tank, so you have a solo seat when you want to go show off, and two minutes later you have a very comfortable matching rear seat and backrest for your passenger.

Moving on to the rear, we installed the rear half of the (AirFXUSA) air ride kit, these aren't  just  stamped steel C-6 Corvette shocks like everyone else uses, these are 6061 Billet aluminum rear shocks that have adjustable rebound for that perfect ride!
We also upgraded to the hi-output compressor as well as a hidden air tank, so no more waiting on the pressure to build, just hit the switch and roll out!

Speaking of the air ride, when it's fully dumped the bike rests on an MRI billet aluminum and anodized center stand that is electrically actuated, we also always leave the stock side stand on as well for customer preference.

Next up is the paint, once the urethane primer was blocked to perfection we laid down a bright white base, followed by several coats of a custom pearl midcoat that made for a killer pearl white.
We then locked it down with two coats of Glasurit clear and allowed it to cure.
After block sanding all of the parts, we had our striper lay down a killer set of flames and fill them with 100% pure Italian copper, next up was three more coats of clear.
Once that was cured, everything was blocked again before david hand striped all of the flames, we then applied four more coats of high-solid clear and allowed it to cure.
A couple of days later it was all blocked again and buffed to a killer finish!
We also painted the inner fairing just to tie everything together.

Among the small things we added were
A killer flamethrower kit for having fun at the shows!
(Custom Dynamics) front turn/running LED's
Custom LED tail/brake lights
(Eddie Trotta) Rolex cut Floor boards, rear pegs, fork sliders and bag latches
(Harley Davidson) low profile windshield
(Camtech) BMF chin spoiler
(Performance Machine) Billet aluminum horn cover
(Harley Davidson) Billet Tribal mirrors
(Screamin Eagle) 10mm plug wires
(Harley Davidson) Chrome swingarm cover

As you can see, no shortcuts were taken, it's simply a show quality bagger that has coast to coast drivability, thanks to modern technology and an intelligent approach to the selection of parts.

Call or email with any questions.
NEW lower reserve in order to get the next two rolling!

Elvis' Harley

Thu, 16 Aug 2012

Today (August 16) it's exactly 35 years since Elvis died (or didn't, depending on your beliefs on the matter) so we thought we'd mark the moment with this – Elvis Presley's own 1956 Harley-Davidson. Elvis is so inextricably linked to Harleys that he's even become subject of an endlessly-circulating internet myth. You know, the one where a guy finds an old Harley for a few bucks, starts to restore it and discovers an 'Elvis' inscription under the seat.

EICMA 2013: Harley-Davidson Revolution X 750 & 500

The two motorcycles feature the new liquid-cooled Revolution X engine, a narrow, agile chassis with a low seat height (26.3 inches), new suspension, a wide handlebar and minimalist styling. Not all markets will get both engine sizes, but the U.S.

Harley Declares Women Riders Month

Tue, 10 Feb 2009

Back in July of ’08 Motorcycle.com announced that The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum and Nationwide Insurance were working together to mark July as Women’s Motorcycle Month in order to honor the contribution made to history by female riders. This May, Harley-Davidson is staging a series of events in order to celebrate women on two wheels by declaring May, “Women Riders Month.” Some of the Harley-Davidson Women Riders Month initiatives will include special rides in New York City and Milwaukee as well as an attempt to grace the pages of the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest number of women motorcycle riders trained in one weekend. Harley-Davidson dealerships will also be hosting women-only Garage Parties, which consist of informal meetings in an unintimidating environment where women can learn about motorcycling.
