Harley-Davidson Touring description

1999 - First year of the Twin Cam 88. Beautiful bike. Odometer states 10421, but I think the speedo was replaced by the previous owner.

Custom charcoal paint. Chrome is nice. Front tire is good, rear tire will need replacing in a year or so. Everything works as it should. Missing radio.

Has some kind of performance kit but not sure what it was. Runs better than most 88's and some 96's!

Kind of cold natured when first fired up, but after she warms up for a few minutes she's fine.

Smoked led lights all the way around, but not pictured.

Presently: tour pak has been removed, wilt all associated hardware and mounting brackets, but can easily be restored to its original configuration as pictured. Will post newer photo's of this bike in its present state - looks mostly like an FLHX

Have most pieces and parts to upgrade this bagger to a 2005 model, not included in this sale, but can be negotiated to new owner of this motorcycle .... which would include:

  • Full and complete main & fairing harness
  • Front & rear wheels and tires
  • Front fork sliders - 1" axle
  • Front dual disc brake calipers
  • Rear disc brake caliper
  • Fuel injection system including intake manifold - throttle body - air cleaner - EFI fuel pump
  • and many other parts too numerous to mention, just ask

Harley Art

Mon, 16 Jan 2012

A new display in the Harley-Davidson museum in Milwaukee is set to open at the end of this week exhibiting the artwork of the firm's styling chief Willie G Davidson. As well as being the grandson of the original 'Davidson' and in charge of all Harley's styling, it turns out that Willie G is a dab hand with a paintbrush. According to Harley-Davidson, the display will include “idyllic rural landscapes and still life watercolour paintings with strong luminosity and form that hint at time spent in the countryside during 48 years as the pacesetter in motorcycle design.” The firm's museum has also announced other special exhibits planned for later in the year, including “Journey of the Iron Elite: The Evolution of Motorcycle Culture through the Eyes of African-Americans” and “Born to be Wild: The Black Leather Jacket” - a 4000-square-foot display dedicated purely to black biker jackets...

Built For Speed Art Exhibit To Be Displayed At Sturgis Buffalo Chip

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

“Built for Speed – Race Inspired Motorcycles and Art” is the title of Michael Lichter’s 14th annual “Motorcycles as Art” exhibition in Sturgis this August, which for the second year in a row, will be jointly curated by Michael and Paul d’Orleans of the Vintagent. ‘Built for Speed’ is sure to impress visitors with a beautiful and thought-provoking display of motorcycles and related art, the race-inspired theme making connections between motorcycle racing and custom bike designs inspired by racers. Each custom bike in ‘Built for Speed’ reflects a branch of racing; Speedway, Flat Track, Drag Racing, Board Track,  Grand Prix, Land Speed Record, and will be displayed beside the racing machines suggesting the origins of each style.
