Honda CA description

Beautiful, strong-running Honda 305 Dream with a professional bright red paint job. The chrome is nice and shiny, there are no dents or dings in the bodywork, including the flared fenders. It has a few minor blemishes you'd have to work to notice; otherwise it looks like a museum piece. Even the Honda emblems are in place and show no rust.

The engine runs reliably and predictably, and starts easily with the electric start--no grinding. Or use the kickstarter, one kick on a warm day, two on a cold day. It shifts just like new (that is, a little stiff by modern standards) and brakes like new too (that is, a little soft by modern standards).

Bike has just been thoroughly gone over. Fixed a leaky petcock, new plugs, new fuel line, carb cleaned, new headlight. Tires are a year old with about 200 miles on them. Even the horn works nice and loud. The Dream has a fork lock, heel-and-toe shifter, and both side stand and center stand.

Odometer reads 1822, Actual mileage can't be known, but this Honda has not had a difficult life.

Downsides are pretty small. The hand screw for one side cover is cracked. The neutral light doesn't always light. The speedometer bounces around a little. I've fixed a pinhole leak in the gas tank and the leaky petcock, so the tank bears watching. There's a scuff in the handlebar chrome.

Despite its age, this is a surprisingly easy and accessible bike. I got it as a local rider for my wife and daughter and it's been a blast, and totally reliable. I wouldn't be afraid to ride it anywhere. But that's my opinion, obviously there's no warranty and the bike is sold as is, where is.

I'm selling because my daughter and I are starting a cafe racer project and I'm on a strict three-motorcycle-at-a-time diet.

WSBK 2013: Nurburgring Race Report

Tue, 03 Sep 2013

Tom Sykes has taken over the lead in the 2013 World Superbike Championship standings after splitting race victories with Chaz Davies at Germany’s Nurburgring circuit. Both races ended prematurely however with red flags during the final laps. Pata Honda‘s Jonathan Rea and FIXI Crescent Suzuki‘s Leon Camier both crashed on the 18th lap of Race One after running into oil spilled on the track from Pedercini Kawasaki racer Federico Sandi‘s ZX-10R.

According to Honda's Australian YouTube channel the child riding the Honda CRF50F in this ad is following in his dad's footsteps, as he also rode a Funbike as a child. In the very same back yard that was used for the shoot. After seeing the film crew in action, the child's grandmother announced she had old Super8 footage from 30 years ago which was subsequently used for the opening scene.

Bradl prepares for Laguna's Corkscrew

Wed, 25 Jul 2012

A rookie to Laguna Seca, Stefan Bradl shows one way to prepare for the Corkscrew; by riding his LCR Honda RC213V down the famous Lombard Street in San Francisco. The reigning Moto2 champion may have never raced at the Californian track but earlier this year he used a break between races to learn the circuit on a Honda CBR1000RR, having only had a virtual experience of Laguna before this year. At the time the young German said: "It is downhill, and there are lots of blind corners.
