1966 HONDA CB450 K0 SUPER SPORT, BLACK BOMBER - TASTEFULLY RESTORED, CLEAN TITLE AND READY TO RIDE!

****  NO RESERVE AUCTION  ****  HIGHEST BIDDER TAKES IT HOME!!  ****

The CB450 K0 Super Sport is the first model Honda 450. Also known as the "Black Bomber".  It was Honda's largest displacement motor and flagship racing bike after winning first place, three years in a row, at the Isle of man race, 500cc class; 1965, 1966 & 1967. A revolutionary engine design using double over head cams and torsion bar valve springs yielded 43 BHP @ 10,000+ RPM! This model bike established Honda as a world class motorcycle manufacturer by defeating European dominance of the market.

This is an excellent example of that iconic machine because of it's original 4 speed engine and overall excellent condition. It starts right up, idles smoothly, runs strong and rides well through all four gears. A recent restoration was performed while maintaining a visible patina and signs of age. The engine was removed, cleaned and detailed. The frame was thoroughly cleaned and painted. The silver fenders and side covers have been painted to match, as best as possible, Honda's original color. The original gas tank has been cleaned and epoxy coated inside. The outside of the tank was painted to match original. The original chrome tank covers shine like new. The tank badges are quality reproductions. The rubber knee pads are in excellent condition. The headlight bucket mounted speedometer and sealed beam unit are in excellent original working condition and unique to the K0 model. However, the tachometer has recently stopped working. The original handlebars, controls, switches, steering stabilizer, mirrors and levers, all look good and work properly. The exhaust system is very clean and the chrome shines well. The mufflers are quiet at idle and roar at high RPM, like they should. The seat has been restored with a quality reproduction cover and strap. The original strap buckles are re-chromed and rivets replaced. The seat hinges are old original rubber mounts and need replacing to operate properly, but they still work fine for me. The stock air filters and rubber boots are in good working condition. The clutch works fine without noticeable slippage. The front and rear brakes work fine. The headlights, taillights, gauge lights, electric starter, kick starter and charging system work properly. Along with Honda's original "Elephant Horn" that sounds great! The wiring harness is in good unmolested condition. The original grey cable housings are in good condition and work properly. The rims are true and shine well with some small rust spots. See The close up picture of the worst spot on the rim. The vintage Cheng Shin tires have good tread and clean sidewalls with no cracking or leaks.

The following additional services were recently performed:

Original carburetors were cleaned and adjusted

New spark plugs installed

Oil changed

Valves adjusted

Petcock cleaned and rebuilt with new seals

New battery

New chain

New handlebar riser bushings

Front and rear brakes cleaned, lubed and adjusted

This Honda Black Bomber is in excellent condition with a beautiful patina and would make a fine addition to any collection. At almost 50 years old, it should make a sound investment that will only appreciate in value over the next few years. I have been a Honda enthusiast for 30+ years and always dreamed of owning a Black Bomber. This bike has been a great fulfillment of that dream. I have enjoyed riding it and always got lots of comments from people admiring the bike. It's true what they say, "You meet the nicest people on a Honda". However, due to my current financial situation, it is time to pass it on to another rider that can give it a good home. This is a true auction with no reserve, highest bidder helps out a fellow enthusiast and gets to ride my bike home! Thanks for bidding!

Clean California title in my name, pink slip in hand. Registration is on Planned Non-Operational status with no back fees due.

Frame # CB450-1020108

Engine # CB450E-1017824

I have tried to describe this motorcycle as best as possible. I am not an expert and statements made by me are based on my limited personal knowledge of the bike and should be considered my opinion. This bike is 47 years old and it's condition should be considered to be consistent with a vehicle of that age. It does not look showroom new. It has rust spots, dings scrapes and scratches, but still looks wonderful. This bike is being offered for sale "As Is and Where Is" and the sale is final with a no return policy.

If you need further information, feel free to ask me a question.

THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK BIDDING!!!

MotoGP should return to Suzuka

Thu, 14 Jul 2011

Suzuka was always one of the great circuits; unfortunately the Japanese track was dropped following the tragic death of Daijiro Kato in 2003 as the course was deemed too tight and dangerous for the rapid four-strokes. Owned by Honda, Suzuka is a magical place combining arching S-bends from the start of the lap, high-speed in the middle and finished off with the technical and oft racing deciding final chicane, the location of many fantastic last lap battles. However the death of Kato, and Honda’s major hope of a Japanese champion, placed a dark cloud over the 5.807 kilometres of tarmac.

2010-2011 Honda Shadow VT750 Recall

Mon, 13 Jun 2011

Honda has initiated a recall campaign for certain 2010-2011 Shadow series cruisers due to a problem with their bank angle sensors. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the bank angle sensors may incorrectly read that the motorcycle is leaning. The bank sensor uses a weighted pendulum that swings into a motorcycle’s lean.

2010 Honda SH150i

Tue, 14 Apr 2009

The Honda SH150i has been a big seller in Europe for years and will finally be coming to the U.S. in May. Honda might be arriving a year late, missing the huge demand from last years gas spike and is a little pricey at $4,499 considering you can get a Kawasaki Ninja 250R for $500 less.
