Honda CB description

1974 Honda CB550 K0.  Full frame off restoration.  24510 miles.  37 miles since restoration.
Fuel tank and side covers painted in original Boss Maroon Metallic color.  Original tank graphics with new fuel tank and side cover emblems.  Replaced fuel tank petcock and fuel lines.
Frame and swing arm repainted.
Engine disassembled, cleaned, inspected and all parts checked with micrometer for wear. Crankshaft, connecting rods, standard pistons, camshaft, rocker arms, rocker arm shafts and oil pump were replaced with parts from an engine with less than 5,000 miles.  All parts were checked with a micrometer and were within new specifications.  Main bearings, connecting rod bearings, piston rings, exhaust valves, camshaft chain tensioner, cam chain slipper, all oil seals, O rings and gaskets were replaced with new parts.  A three angle valve job was performed.  The cylinders were checked with a bore dial gage to less than 0.0015 taper and out of round.  The cylinders were honed and cleaned prior to reassembly.  Engine cases vapor blasted and repainted in stock Honda silver case paint.  Engine aluminum covers were polished and clear coated.
All hardware was polished.
Wheels were disassembled, hubs, rims, spokes, spoke nipples and brake backing plate polished, wheels re-laced and trued and new Dunlop GT501 tires, rim strips and tubes installed.
Rebuilt the front brake caliper and master cylinder.  Flushed the front brake hydraulic system with new brake fluid.
Exhaust flanges were vapor blasted.
Front fork sliders were stripped, buffed, clear coated, new fork seals installed, left fork tube replaced and reassembled with new fork oil.
Seat was rebuilt with seat base repainted, new seat foam, seat cover, seat strap and hardware and seat bottom chrome trim installed.
Main wire harness, left handlebar switch assembly, all light bulbs and battery were replaced with new.  Right handlebar switch was rebuilt including new starter button.
Speedometer and tachometer were replace with good used parts.  Original speedometer read 23,482 miles.  Replacement speedometer reads 11967.  Current mileage will be 23,482 plus what the replacement speedometer trip meter reads which is currently 28 miles.
Installed new handlebar grips.  Polished the clutch and brake lever.  Replaced the rear view mirrors.  Replaced the throttle, clutch, speedometer and tachometer cables.
Thoroughly cleaned the carburetors,  Replaced the main jets, pilot jets, floats and needle and seats.
Installed new 0-ring chain and sprockets.
Installed new spark plugs, ignition points and condensers.  Rebuilt the ignition centrifugal advance unit. 
Adjusted the valve clearances to factory specifications.
Synchronized the carburetors, adjusted the idle mixtures and the idle speed.
Set the ignition timing to specification.
 Road tested the bike and it runs and rides like new.

2013 AMA Supercross San Diego Race Report

Davi Millsaps captured his second main event win of the season and expanded his AMA Supercross championship lead to 19 points with a wire-to-wire victory at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. The Rockstar Energy Suzuki rider jumped ahead at the start for the holeshot and held that lead for the entire 20-lap race for the win. Finishing 2.386 seconds back was Team Honda Muscle Milk‘s Justin Barcia while Red Bull KTM‘s Ryan Dungey finished 10.300 seconds back for third place.

Repsol Honda Signs Marquez and Pedrosa for 2013 MotoGP Season

Honda Racing Corporation announced it has signed rising Spanish talent Marc Marquez to a two-year contract on its factory team. He will race alongside Dani Pedrosa who signed a two-year contract extension with Honda to race in the 2013 MotoGP Championship. Marquez currently leads the Moto2 Championship by 43 points for the Catalunya Caixa Repsol team after finishing second in the series in 2011.
