Honda CB description

I have a 1975 Honda CB550 Super Sport. Tank and side covers is the original paint from the factory, not a respray. The right side cover has a crack which is higlighted in the pictures but has been repaired. One will not noticed unless closely examined. The tank has some paint imperfections which is highlighted in the pictures as well. The engine has a 605 big bore kit. The piston domes are coated with CBC1* thermal barrier and the skirts with DFL1* high pressure dry film lubricant. Coatings assist with less friction and better combustion.

The head has a Stage 2 MRieck work completed. The work includes: disassemble, inspect, bead blast entire head, porting of head especially around the guide boss and intake floor. The head was resurfaced, Serdi Valve job, kibblewhite springs.

The engine has a 650 cam for higher lift, better performance over stock 550 cam. Brand new OEM cam chain, new front and rear sprocket. New chain, 650 tachometer to allow proper RPM readings. However it is not hooked up due to running a tach plug. New owner can install a tach cable to use the tachometer. The bike will come with the original tachometer as well. The sprocket cover is an original chromed piece from the 70's. The stator cover and clutch cover is chromed as well. The bike is equipped with 5 ohm Dyna coils, Dyna electronic ignition. HondaMan modern blade fuse box. Rick's new starter solenoid. The bike does come with a MotoGPwerks 4-1 exhaust that has been powder coated internally to preserve longevity of the exhaust. There is a dent in the headers and please examine pics of the dents on the header. The Avon Roadrunner tires were bought last summer. This Honda is equipped with Superbike handlebars, has All Balls tapered neck bearings installed. Hagon rear shocks as well.

The chrome on the fenders is in great shape. Wiring harness is not hacked up. All turn signals work. Modern flasher upgrade. The original tank has been lined with a Caswell sealer. Overall the bike is in nice shape for a 41 year old bike.

Please look at all pics to see the flaws. Also PM me and I can share any other info needed. Sale is final, as is, with no return and there is a 500 deposit due when the auction has ended within 12 hours. Buyer is responsible for shipping. I will assist with shipping but only in the extent of being present when picked up by the buyer. Ebay is not allowing me to choose a different shipping option so please contact in regard to shipping. Please check out the video on youtube of the Honda on the Dyno. It tested out at 44hp to the wheel. Stock from the factory is roughly 35 HP.

What’s the deal with all those Pink Motorcycles?

Tue, 07 Jul 2009

Picture a Motorcycle in your mind, any Motorcycle. It could be one you own, want to own, one you’ve seen. Can you picture it?  What Brand is it?  What Model, year, how fast does it go?  You can probably picture each of these elements vividly.

Ronax 500 – the Street Legal Two-Stroke GP Replica

Mon, 09 Jun 2014

After teasing us for nearly two months, German brand Ronax has revealed its 500cc two-stroke sportbike. Ronax isn’t saying it’s a street-legal replica of the Honda NSR500 that Valentino Rossi rode to win the 2001 Grand Prix world championship – probably because they legally can’t – but that’s essentially what the 500 is. Honda NM4 Vultus Concept Revealed

Fri, 21 Mar 2014

Honda revealed a new concept model called the NM4 Vultus, a futuristic-looking 745cc motorcycle with a massive front fairing. Despite the fact it looks like a mockup made for a movie like the Kawasaki-based bike in the recent Robocop reboot, Honda says the NM4 is indeed planned for production. The NM4 was designed by a team of young engineers in their 20s and early 30s, and that’s demographic Honda wants to target with its new concept.
