Honda CB description
Summary: Vintage Honda in good mechanical condition, decent cosmetic condition, needs nothing, currently registered and ridden in CT (no title).
Bike starts, idles and runs well. Shifts through all gears with no problem. Brakes work well. Lights, horn and directionals all working. Charging system, battery and starter all good. Steering and suspension seem fine.
Oil and filter have been changed only a couple hundred miles ago.
Carbs have been cleaned and vacuum balanced using the Motion-Pro tool, valve clearances are all set to perfection. Cylinder compression is on spec.
Exhaust pipes, shocks and headlight bracket are off another 750K of the same vintage. Wheels, originally chrome, have been painted. Front tire is new; back tire has a lot of miles left.
Chrome fenders have minor pitting but still shine up well. Chrome overall is pretty good.
Front brake upper and lower systems have been rebuilt using OEM parts from Honda.
Seat has been re-covered, tank has been cleaned and lined with POR-15. Tank paint has scratches and wear but no dents.
Side covers are in good shape, matching, with the correct striping for the Excel Black 750K (so many badly repaired/painted covers out there on eBay!)
I have added a "National Cycle Plexifairing 3" windshield ($200) for highway riding (think warm hands in winter).
Bike is sold without title and no title is required in CT (and many other states) for bikes this age.
It was fun cleaning and restoring and riding this machine, but now it's time to say goodbye and get back some room in the garage.

Tue, 17 Aug 2010Need something to do on August Bank Holiday weekend, then read below: "Although the South West Motorcycle Show has been running at the Westpoint Arena for the last sixteen years, 2010 is the first year that the show hosts the all-new Vertical Trix European Stunt Championship. The show contains all the usual attractions that have been delivered to motorcyclists from over the south-west and further afield since 1994 – including all the appropriate trade stands, and with strong support from local dealers – plus attractions such a a dyno on site, restaurant, bar, bike displays, live music and of course the live action arena. Although the action in the show arena has previously been stunt displays, rather than a full-on competition.

Well, it sure didn’t take the Northern Irishman long to accomplish that goal, winning the very first race of the 2014 season at Australia’s Phillip Island course. The win was Laverty’s third in a row, including the final two races of the 2013 season when he raced for Aprilia.
Pit Biking; good clean fun for all the family
Wed, 01 Feb 2012If you haven’t tried Pit Biking yet, you’re missing out on some incredible fun, and it won’t break the bank. The majority of pit bikes are of Chinese origin and I guess, are best described as modern day monkey bikes. Yes Chinese, and I’ve witnessed them being thrashed round all day long without missing a beat, so Jonny Wong and co. are finally getting there on quality and reliability! Although Pit Bikes are designed for off road use, an extra few hundred quid spent on matching up wheels, fitting tarmac tyres and some crash protection will mean you’re track ready for a total of around £600.
